For the Mara — Painter Coat what weight of linen would you suggest?

We love our heavyweight linens for this coat. Try looking for 4C22 and IL090 on the site to see which one strikes your fancy.

Our pleasure! A4 paper is a paper size similar to US letter. You can print this pattern on US Letter or A4 :)

Wondering if I could make this jacket in the heavy weight instead of canvas? Want to make it in black and don't see many color options in canvas. Thanks!

A good one!

A good pattern for a summers coat. Finished the seams with bias binding and it's cute inside out,

Pia • March 28, 2021

This is my Mara muslin made from a thrift store sheet. I went ahead and finished it as I think it will make a good spring coat. Pattern instructions are easy to follow (see The Thread tutorial).

Lyn • March 10, 2023

Made the Mara in 4C22 Reed - shortened the length. French seams throughout. First time sewing with the heavier weight linen. I really like it for jackets. Need more color options!
