Andrea — Linen Lap Throw
Andrea is a simple linen throw with fringed edges at each end. Pure linen is the perfect fabric to be lived in and enjoyed for many years. The more you use and wash your linen throws, the softer they become! Make several for yourself and to give as cherished gifts to share with family and friends.

Using the Open Weave variation in Fog, I have mine folded onto the back of my recliner when not in use. Houston, has damp cooler weather. Even inside can feel chilly at 70 degrees. Generally I use mine 1 of 2 ways, stretched lengthwise to cover my legs and feet, or more often, folded lengthwise, adjusted around my shoulders, arms and neck. Wherever it goes, immediately feels cozier within minutes. Yet, it is lightweight on my body. I hemmed the edges with a double fold, then a simple multi step zigzag Utility Stitch. Each end I sewed across the width of the fabric using the same. Then pulled threads. Because of the variance of the stitch from the end, it gave the appearance of tied fringe. I did tie it, but didn't have to count threads as they clustered because of movement in the stitch.
