I love this pattern

I started making this dress, but underestimated the amount of fabric needed if using a patterned fabric. That being said, I ended up making a top from the top to dress. I added a band (the belt) to the bottom to finish it. It is so cute and comfortable. I will post a picture of the top. I love the free patterns here and have purchased the Riva Pattern, but haven't used it yet. I will update my review when I finish the dress.

Nice, but cut the front edge on straight of grain

I made this dress from some nice linen and it's a lovely easy to wear summer dress. Generally the pattern went together very nicely. But I would recommend cutting the front bodice pieces so the front wrap edge is on the straight of grain (which is actually how the sample in the picture is cut), rather than on the bias. Cutting it as directed in the pattern ends up with the front edge on the bias and it stretches out significantly over time. If i made it again, I would also make it with in-seam pockets instead of patch pockets as they aren't that attractive if you have a plain fabric.

I ran out of material. My fault, but ended up with a cute top. Looking forward to making the dress soon.

I added cuffed ( borrowed from the Augustina top) sleeves, and ditch the belt and belt loops. Thank you for the free pattern, and all the useful tutorials you share.
