Customer Questions and Answers
I'm confused what size I should go for? My sisters measurements seem to span three different sizes - were in different countries so can only do so much in measurements. Any help would be fantastic. Bust - 39.5 Waist - 35 Hips - 40
I'd highly recommend reading our article on sizing and blending between sizes to help you get the best fit. support.fabrics-store.com/hc/en-us/articles/4442260072589-How-to-Measure-Yourself-and-Find-your-Best-Size-for-Fabrics-Store-com-Patterns

I made the 4/6 in a brown heavy linen and absolutely love the result. The only modification I needed to make was taking in the bust darts quite a bit to fit me but other than that it's great.
I had so much fun making this dress. Although I'm not an expert seamstress in any way, the tutorial was pretty easy to follow and the pattern was not too complicated. I was a patterned fabric for the bodice and the button band and a plain cotton for the skirt and the collar, and it's so cute! If I were to do it again tho, I would make the armholes smaller and the skirt a bit shorter, but this is personnal preference. Anyways, fun project, thank you for the pattern!
Salome sleeveless ahirt dress. Nice simple, easy to follow pattern. I used size 8/10 based on my waist measurement and did a SBA to the bodice. Omitted the upper collar. Used 2m of 115cm wide cotton. All tutorial instructions went as expected, everything worked out correctly. I felt the pattern pockets were a little small, and will use my own in future. Will make again, looks good, feels great on.
I LOVE this pattern and have made it twice, once in inexpensive cotton as a loose-fitting porch dress and then as a more fitted garment in thread-dyed linen. I will make it at least once more. What I love is how flattering this style is on me making me, hiding the parts I like hidden and playing up my waist when really I don't have much of an hour-glass figure. This dress makes it look as if I do.
I had some issues with the button band - the bodice side with the buttons ends up much longer than than the other so that the collar doesnt fit properly and the buttons are off centre. I fixed it as best as I could but I can't figure out where I went wrong! Otherwise great pattern and my friend loves her dress :)
