Description:
When it comes to fashion, the saying "history repeats itself" tends to be true. The styles that make a comeback, do so for a reason: they have a classic appeal and flattering shapes, just like this box-pleated dress. A staple of the 50's with its pleated full skirt, it is as feminine now as it was back then. Plus, it can be forgiving on those who have full hips and create flattering curves on those who don't.

Customer Questions and Answers
The skirt pattern piece, I learned the hard way, needs to indicate a fold. I cut it as marked and did not have enough fabric to make the dress. Please tell me where the fold side should be
Hello, We're sorry this mark was left out of the correct position of the pattern. The shared line for all sizes on the right most vertical is the fold line.
Is there any chance of seeing what the front looks like, finished?
Yes, there is a photo of the front on the blog post with the tutorial. Here is the current link:blog.fabrics-store.com/2018/06/12/harper-box-pleated-dress-tutorial/
Hi, Does the Harper dress come in a paper pattern version or just a PDF? Thanks.
This pattern is only available in the free A4/Letter tiled version.
I was excited to make this because I have made several of the other free patterns with great success. This one however had very poor bodice fit. I had to add a bunch of darts to make the neckline stop gaping. The skirt pattern also does not have the instructions to cut on fold printed on the pattern piece. I cut it out incorrectly because of this and did not have enough fabric left to correct my error. I did a gathered skirt so I did not waste the fabric I used. It turned out fine in the end but was a headache and a big time waster to accomplish an ok fit. If I had used one of the other patterns the result and fit would have been better
