I'd like to make this with waffle linen (IS010) and know I'll need a larger size pattern. But how much larger?? One size? Two sizes?

Hello, We don't recommend sizing up the pattern to account for shrinkage, since the shrinkage is uneven. Rather you should work from the washed fabric and cut your actual size. For more information about the shrinkage on this fabric please see our help center article:

Hi! The waffle shrinks differently warp and weft. The garment size increase would depend on the way the pattern pieces are placed on the fabric. The width of cloth shrinks 17% (weft of the fabric) and 28% on the length ( warp of the fabric). Please send us an email and Lauren will be able to walk you through the best way to make the garments out of the waffle cloth. Have a great day!

Yardage requirements for basic weave fabric to make Capucine garments.

Oksana • July 28, 2022

I have been sewing garments (consistently) for about two years now, and I am still in awe of the wide range of fabrics available to sew. I chose a jacquard linen because: 1) I love the name and 2) I have little-no experience working with this fabric type. I have also always wanted to add more loungewear to my wardrobe as I find myself sitting at my computer more and more for schoolwork and with the pandemic still ongoing, I stay home more often than not.

I used a contrasting mediumweight linen fabric for the bias binding.

Capucine Robe in 4C22 Dulse. Super fun to sew, and this fabric is awesome from spring to fall!

When I initially laid eyes on FS CAPUCINE Bathrobe my first thought was: ‘Hello – I need you' – then I saw the gorgeous FS WAFFLE Weave Linen and boom! I found the perfect combo. Washing both shrinks and forms the texture of waffle weave linen. For this reason, I would recommend sizing up on the pattern to make sure you don't end up with sleeves that are too short.
