A decorative interpretation of the Arboreal motif made up of entwined foliage, flowers, acorns, and berries in the Natural - Yellow color way.
The engineering of this cloth allows the Jacquard to be read equally well from either side - you have a reversible fabric that changes its dominant color scheme depending on what side you pick.
Lying in a haphazard pile at a Parisian flea market was all that remained of a glorious collection of textiles that once graced the halls and environs of Loire castle.
The remnant was pulled from that pile and brought to our studio where we were able to translate the complexity of design and texture to the Jacquard loom, and the 100% linen Loire Collection was created exclusively for F|S.com.
The different weaving techniques utilized to create this fabric make it 3-dimensional - you have a textured cloth that communicates the motif visually and tactilely.
The intricacy of the design permits the cloth to be used in any direction, with the motif maintaining its representation regardless of the angle.
This cloth is 61 inches wide, delicate to the touch, and a heavy weight to last generations.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Can you tell me what the rub count rating is ? Is it more than 50,000? I have two sofas which are heavily used, and the last time I used linen upholstery on them they quickly wore out. I want to be sure that this time I have a heavy enough quality fabric to withstand heavy use Do you think with this would be appropriate?

IL098 Jacquard fabric is very durable and strong .It will be great fabric for upholstery. The typical rub cunt for jacquard fabric is 30,000-50,000 double rubs common for residential upholstery.

I really love this fabric, drape, color, texture all so exciting. I am thinking of using this to sew a pair of loose pants. This pants pattern has a side panel that I want to use this heavier linen and use my previously bought linen for the remainder of the pattern. What do you think? And what needle do you use? I have a Bernina and use a universal 80 but now think a suk may be a better choice. Thank you so much

The repeat is every 15 inches in length with the repeat going the full width of the linen.
What is the difference between Premier Finish and Signature Finish?

Our Signature finish has gone through a hot wash process with a softener added to give you a super soft linen. The process removes most of the shrinkage so you can expect a residual 3% shrinkage. Our Premier Finish is a special softening process that uses a mechanical technique with softener to achieve a very soft finish, the linen is not laundered so the expected shrinkage is 7-10%
For this IL098, it states that it comes preshrunk, so does this shrink at all after washing and drying and if so what %? What is the washing and drying instructions for this fabric?

This linen will still need to be washed at least one more time to remove the residual shrinkage which will be approx 4% in the width and 4.8% in the length. We recommend a cool to warm water wash with a tumble dry low heat. Free and Clear products are recommended as well. This is a beautiful thick fabric. I was looking for a patterned fabric to make linen napkins for my in laws. This pattern stood out to me and seemed a great fit for my in laws aesthetic. And a couple reviews have commented on making napkins with this. Well let me tell you, once I got this fabric, I thought, "gosh darn, this fabric is too nice to just make napkins with!" So, with my leftover fabric, I made an albeit short but still functional scarf! Such a lovely thick and soft fabric. It would make a beautiful shawl or throw as well!
Saw this in the Doggie bag. Bought one yard of it to make a throw,did not wash it first. So easy to work with. I sewed a couple line of stitches on each end of the bias end as it's the longer end on my throw. Cut it in strips to give it fringes, it came out beautiful! I did this in the blue and the pink also. Came out beautiful and sooo soft love this fabric!

I made napkins, and with the leftover fabric made a quick scarf!
This fabric makes the most beautiful napkins. They're silky and luxurious.
1940's open arm rocker reupholstered. IL098 is loosely woven and very soft even without washing. Would use for drapes but not for upholstery again. Will have to be gentle with this rocker as threads can pull easily but really am happy with the look.
This fabric makes the most heavenly Table linens! Pictured here is one of my napkins. Easy peasy to sew up and super soft and silky.
