IL084 Narrow Width 976 Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.1 oz/yd2), Width 19"
This is a 19" wide twin to the 4C22 Rustic linen line.
Woven out of the same size thread and with the same thread density this IL084 is just woven to be narrow. That means less cutting time for you and you can get to the fun part of using your linen items sooner.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a larger variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color. Design created exclusively for F|S.
Narrow width cloth is great for:
- Shopping bags
- Purses
- Placemats
- Runners
- Decorative pillows
- Kitchen towels
- Appliance covers
- Potholders
- Cushions
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I tried 3 yards when on sale and made 3 lovely kitchen towels in under an hour. I washed and dried them with other towels...no special treatment....and they came out with hardy a wrinkle. The fabric far exceeded my expectations. I am spoiled and want to throw away all my other kitchen towels. I definitely will be buying more of this fabric......
I received my order for this dish towel linen exactly as promised.... a bit longer because of border crossing etc. but no duties due at the door. Looking forward to working with this fabric. Thanks again and sincerely, Mary
I loved my first order of Linen for kitchen towels so much, that I sent for more. This time I changed the color. I love them even more. I love the idea shared by one client. I plan to use an embroidery machine stitch on the bottom above the hem. This is a truly excellent product!
I made kitchen towels out of this fabric. Wonderful weight and feel, it was very easy to work with, I'm not much of a sewer! I washed the piece first, but it definitely frayed at the edges. If you're going for that look, that's the way to go. In the future, I would cut and sew before washing. The linen is very absorbent and looks beautiful. The lighter color is more gray than off white, in my opinion, and I just love it.
Easy to work with due to the heavier nature and still smooth even though it's a rustic linen. I made farmhouse pillows.
I love
I really loved how the tea towels turned out that I made with this fabric. I pre-washed the fabric and then pressed it. I cut out the size that I wanted and frayed the edges on one of the short sides and then ran a hem stitch so that the fray wouldn't continue. I also added in a small loop so that the towels could be hung from a hook. They'll make a great housewarming present for my best friend's daughter! The fabric is so soft and really absorbent.
Love this! I've made so many hand towels. As a retired chef I'm still in the kitchen making yogurt, breads, pies, etc. this is the towel I turn to for covers. We use them as dinner napkins, although large 30" length when we're not at the dinner table. I love them so much I've been giving them to friends just to share.
this narrow linen is just what I thought it would be. Like the description, it's a bit rustic. I'm going to make some kitchen towels for my friend's cabin. Instead of turning under a normal hem, I'm going to fray the edges (about 3/8") and run a stitch the width of the fabric, like a stay stitch, so it won't unravel. I think they'll turn out great.
