This is a 19" wide twin to the 4C22 Rustic linen line.
Woven out of the same size thread and with the same thread density this IL084 is just woven to be narrow. That means less cutting time for you and you can get to the fun part of using your linen items sooner.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a larger variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color. Design created exclusively for F|S.

The description on this fabric does not specify the accent color. What color are the stripes at the selvedge edges?

The closet stripe in from the selvedge is a thin grey stripe which is the same color as the larger and thin stripes across the linen.
I purchased a couple of doggie bags to see how I liked this for kitchen towels and I love it. Tried different sizes and I like bigger towels. Will be ordering more of this. Thank you!!!

I love the weight and feel of this material for dish towels, more heft than my sack cloth towels and much sturdier. Feels soft after washing however it's not as absorbent as I was hoping. As it softens with multiple washings that may improve.
I purchased 3 yards of this linen to make kitchen towels even though I am a weaver. The linen is a great weight and the colors are so in fashion for almost anyone's kitchen. After washing and hemming, they are almost too beautiful to use. I am thinking of doing several for gifts for friends, they are so nice.
Love this fabric! Serged the ends, washed and dried in hot to get the shrinkage before cutting the fabric!. Easy to iron, I seamed up the entire length on both sides, cut into towel lengths, added loops for hanging......and done, ready for wrapping and sending in plenty of time! Wish I had bought more!

Ordered this the second it came out! I am a big fan of the narrow widths because there are many ways to use them. Arrived as expected, with a bit of stiffness to the fabric and the color was sublime; this will go with many neutral decors very easily. Not as thick as the other narrow IL073 series nor as textured. Overall its a sturdy yet, mid-weight linen. I washed it in warm water and hot water rinse. Thrown into the dryer and it was ready in about 15 minutes. Did not come out completely wrinkled, just barely, so it was a breeze to iron. Very nice hand, smooth, yet still has the light rustic look to it. Just a few little nubs and "twigs" to pick off, but no biggie. I hemmed the edges and left the serged side intact. Took measurements after I sewed the ends and prior to washing. The length was at 35" long by 19 5/8" wide (20"). After the machine wash and dry, the piece was now 32" long by 18" wide and its the perfect size for my kitchen or bath hand-towels. Would also make a nice runner as well. I will be washing it more to see how soft it gets. Very happy to see these new additions, will be ordering more.
10 yards of IL 084 fabric converted into fabulous gifts for friends and family. Prior to embroidering I washed this somewhat stiff fabric then ironed it to have a sturdy base for the stitches. Upon completion of the embroidery the towels were washed and tumble dried to get rid of the wash away stabilizer. This was followed with another round of ironing to smooth out any wrinkles. ( I like ironing for what it does to fabrics.) By that time the fabric was quite soft and a pleasure to handle. For the future user I will recommend just laying them out flat to dry as they are sufficiently softened to do well for drying dishes. It is noteworthy that I chose this fabric because the middle was left without a pattern to allow my embroidery to take center stage.
My new kitchen towel from the recently acquired 20" IL084 narrow linen series. Washed and dried like a dream - very easy to iron, but its not needed. Does shrink after first wash, so make your cuts accordingly. Nice mid-weight with a bit of the rustic look to it.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
