IL020 Handkerchief Optic White Softened - 100% Linen - Light (3.7 oz/yd2)
At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
Before I purchase the IL020 I need to know is this optic white and softened version dyeable? Thanks
We have had some customers due off of the optic with success but it depends on the dye method you are using as the optic can react adversely to some dyes. It is best to test this first with the method you will use to make sure you will not have any issues.
Wondering about using this in place of silk crepe if it's washed a couple times? Would that work out?
Silk Crepe and Linen share many of the same qualities and are used for many of the same items so it would depend on the item you are making . We have samples for purchase, this would be the best way to make sure it will work for the project you have in mind.
Is this fabric suitable for altar linens.
Yes this linen is often used for altar linens.
I love the asymmetrical black white top Lesey sewed using the 1L029 optic white and black linen. Is there anyway Lesley can provide the pattern information so that I may buy it. BTW I have just started buying linen from you 3 different times and absolutely love the fabric you sell.
She used our linen to create this. Unfortunately she did not share her pattern with us.
I want to use this for brides handkerchiefs
The Il020 is used by several customers for handkerchiefs.
I'm hunting for the right fabric to make lots of white pillowcases. Is this the #1 best choice? --> IL020 Handkerchief Optic White Softened - What is your recommendation for softness on the skin?
Although some customers have used the lightweight IL020 for pillow cases, most will use the middleweight IL019 which also comes in Optic White. If you have time purchasing a sample of each may help with your decision.

I used one yard of this to make a simple curtain for my bathroom window. It is sheer enough to let in light but allows for plenty of privacy too. And I love seeing the sunlight showing off the weave of the fabric.
Not too light and not too heavy! Perfect for making children's linen shirts for any event.
Love this softened weight linen. Will make a summer weight blouse with it.
Love this linen! Made a cover sheet for our 8 month old grandson and it turned out perfect! Right weight for warmer days and when the AC is on. Love the clean white color too. Definitely will order more after I finish making pillowcases. What a great store to buy linen from!!!! You all are wonderful!
The BEST linen fabric ever!!!! Will definitely buy again. A very happy customer!
