Beautiful linen. Easy to work with. Making baptismal napkins for my church. Easy to order. Delivered quickly.
Gorgeous, breathtaking fabric, easy to sew with, made a beautiful doll outfit, sold it for $60.00!
Absolutely beautiful fabric. Had kitchen pinch pleat curtains made for my kitchen and turned out absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't be more pleased with how quick I received my linen and the quality of it.
As always your linen is perfect. From IL020 OPTIC WHITE Softened, I made this Lady's Chemise from Folkwear patterns. I've been saving this pattern for the perfect fabric. Now that I've mastered the pattern I'm going to order some more linen to make more.
Hello Linda. How did you finish the neck on the dress you made for a little girl? It's beautiful!
I've made several items with Fabric-Store linen, just love it! Especially the handkerchief weight. Perfect for Florida! I wish people would stop whining about it not being Irish Handkerchief linen. No where does it say it is IRISH handkerchief linen. It is a fantastic light weight linen that I will use again and again.
This fabric is fantastic. I can't keep my hands off of it. It is so soft. I can't bring myself to cut it so I textured the ends and will use for twin sized top sheets. I keep looking for a project to justify purchasing more.
I have this beautiful, lightweight linen in a couple of different shades and I truly love it. I would not call it equal to Irish handkerchief linen, which has no slubs at all and is much finer in texture. However, it is still a very fine linen with few slubs. It has a soft hand and drapes nicely, especially after pre-washing. This fabric must absolutely be pre-washed before use due to shrinkage (up to 10%) and the amount of lint it produces. After two washings it settles down and behaves quite nicely. I recommend that before you pre-wash the fabric that you either pink the edges or give them a 1/4" seam to prevent their unravelling. This fabric is a dream to sew on a machine, but I also use it for embroidery. I primarily use the white shades for pillowcases and to create embroidered panels for quilts. It is excellent for these uses. There is no end to the uses to which this wonderful and versatile linen could be put.
Exactly what I was expecting. Georgous for my dining room glass window. One panel at each side. No lining needed as I love to see how they move when the wind blows on them. Real pleased with my purchase and will definetely acquire the fabric in other colors
other reviews stated this was "handkerchief" linen and sheer--what I rec'd is very nice fabric w/good hand, but I would describe it as med. weight, NOT handkerchief at all--it has heavy slubs, not sheer--I can revamp my plan and use it, but will get a different effect and have waste. Disappointed. Wish I could educate others on what Irish handkerchief linen should look like.
We use the Optic White IL020 for our small altar linens in our parish. I have just taken over the sewing of these items and I am finding your fabric very easy to work with and with weekly, sometimes daily usage and laundering - it is also durable. Thanks for the great quality at reasonable prices.
This is a lovely pure white fabric which I have used to make pillowcases and children's clothes - just beautiful to sew.
Having spent $26 a yard at other places, for this very same linen, I can't tell you how pleased I was to find this source. In these lean times, how wonderful to find excellent fabric for a very good price! The fabric itself it lovely, perfect for christening gowns, baby day dresses and curtains for my Florida bathroom!!!
I wanted a fabric to hand embroider for guest towels. This is a beautiful ground for surface (not counted thread) embroidery. I have also used a contrasting color of IL020 for Madeira applique. The fabric does shrink something less than 10%. So take that into consideration if the exact amount of fabric is important. Also it will throw off a fair amount of lint when dried in the dryer. Prewashing is a must. The quality of the fabric compares very favorably with Irish handkerchief linen that is several times more expensive. There are relatively few slubs and quality has been consistently high with every piece/color I have ordered.
The linen made up beautifully into smocked little girl dresses A pleasure to work with
This is a light weight, beautiful linen. I love all the IL020 fabrics. It washes beautifully. They all soften over several washes. Those not called softened seem somewhat stiff until washed, but improve with washing. This has a soft hand with good drape for linen. This is suitable for lightweight blouses, lingerie, and other applications. You can't go wrong buying this or any of the ILO20 fabrics. They are my favorites.
Made this tunic length top to go with several FS IL20 solid cropped full legged pants. (Asphalt is my most favorite) This linen is so soft and yet holds the 2" ruffle on the scooped neck and pocket. White is dangerous color for me, but this washes up beautifully every time! It's my go to more dressy casual top for summer!
This was my first time working with linen and I'm sure it won't be my last. This linen is so soft and beautiful. I made this romper as part of a christening outfit for my grandson in Florida. It was very hot and his mother wanted him to be as comfortable as possible. I also made a detachable skirt and hat. This linen was very easy to work with and made some beautiful buttonholes too.
This is a Christening gown I made with the light weight linen. It was just outrageous! It was about 50" long with alternating tucks and custom designed embroideries down the center front. It was finished off with matching satin ribbon and hand dyed venise lace. This is a spectacular fabric and will use it again without doubt.
I loved this linen. I had actually made a slightly more simple christening gown first, and when it was done I was so happy with it I started a second one almost right away...never a moment to enjoy a finished project as my mind is always racing on to the next. This was my first sewing project ever. I used the "Phoebe" pattern and cropped to go with my high waisted paints. I love it! Making in more colors.

Reticella lace towel. Soft yet starches up beautifully. Strong enough to support the lace yet fine enough I could really get it to look delicate

We used this linen to make curtains for a wedding arbor. Wonderful to work with and the perfect weight for luxury, blowing in the breeze outdoor curtains.
