IL019 All-purpose Wildcherry Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.3 oz/yd2), Width 58"
With the heady richness of crushed blackberries or port red wine, WILDCHERRY
linen's tart shade of burgundy stained deep into the canvases of
Pre-Raphaelite painter John William Waterhouse, lending them the
dramatic intensity of a stormy romance.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
I purchased Wild Cherry and have two tops, the Agustina and Phoebe cut and ready to sew. What color thread have you found that works with this lovely color?
Please take a look in our help center where our in house seamstress Lauren has made some thread suggestions and posted a color card for reference support.fabrics-store.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058715271-Sewing-with-Linen-Needle-and-Thread-Suggestions
What shrinkage should I expect from 1L019? I am making your Zina shirt in size 12-14. I have never worked with this fabric before. Am I safe with 2 yds or do I need to go up to 3?
The shrinkage is already accounted for in the yardage needed for this size range. 2 yards is sufficient.
I ordered this fabric to make a "Masha and the Bear" halloween costume for my daughter last fall. I was concerned the color wouldn't be quite right, but ordered anyway, figuring it would be close. It's a tricky tone to get perfect, a dark pink/fuschia, but without being too bold, and almost a touch of a purple undertone. This actually ended up being as spot on as I could hope for. I soaked it for a few hours, then did a pre-wash and dry. Fabric was delightfully soft, had no shrinkage worth mentioning, and sewed up so nicely. Just sad that my daughter hasn't had an excuse to wear it since then!
I was over the moon happy when I received this beautiful linen. I loved Jennifer's top she made and even ordered the Vogue pattern. Definitely ordering more of this linen.
I love the weight and feel of this linen, and the color is incredible. In some light very pinky, in others more purpley. It was hard to thread match but I've gotten a ton of compliments wearing it! It was a delight to work with, especially to hand hem.
This color is more muted red than the tawny port. It is lovely and rich without being too bright. Love it!
This linen was cut off the bolt nearly perfect! I did pull threads to get the straight grain - but only a quarter inch. I recently bought linen from two other places and both were nearly four inches off grain!!! This means almost losing necessary yardage for a pattern! I was extremely pleased with this cut and this company. I did have an issue with color coming off onto a tangerine batiste that I prewashed this "wild cherry" with. It won't be a problem but I will be careful when I wash the finished garment. Or I may wash it one or two times more before laying out the pattern on the fabric.
I purchased this fabric, along with other colors, to create my bridal party's outfits. With a viking theme in the fall, this linen was perfect for my shield maidens! A beautiful berry color, not too red and the linen is breathable without being transparent. This was my first time working with linen and won't be my last.
I made this Agustina boxy top for a friend in exchange for some choice pieces from her fabric stash. She is an autumn complexion whose hair has gone white, and her glasses frames are this color. It looked fab on her the day we did the fitting. This is a luscious color with much more depth and intrigue than burgundy. It is as if a tiny bit of red violet sneaked into some claret. So rich! This will pull out the natural color of some people's lips and skin undertones beautifully.
