IL019 TURQUOISE Softened - 100% Linen - Middle (5.3 oz/yd2)
Dusk was James Abbot McNeill Whistler's favorite time of day, when cool temperatures and dwindling light turned colors into an ambiguous, enigmatic haze.
Nuanced shades of blue and green like that of TURQUOISE Linen allowed him to convey this bracing evening light as it stretched across misty skies and open expanses of freezing water, merging the two into one. A leader in the aesthetic movement of the 19th century, Whistler blended music, poetry, and art together in these tranquil, mesmerizing scenes, writing, “As music is the poetry of sound, so is painting the the poetry of sight.”
Our Turquoise is not your typical lighter, brighter blue like the gemstone, but rather a unique blue with a green undertone and a subtle touch of grey.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces, this 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

I love this linen. It's a perfect weight for a blouse. The color is IL019 Turquoise, middle weight, 5.3 oz. Couldn't be happier.
The Turquoise fabric is not what I would have bought had I seen it in person, as it just isn't a true turquoise to me. As an artist, I expected a different intensity. The fabric IL019 itself has a nice hand, but I know from experience with many of the other colors, it fades a bit after washing. I wish did not happen. Since I don't purchase enough of the fabric at a time to not have to pay shipping, I figured that I might as well keep it, Rather than pay to send it back.
I just received a few yards of this and it is so beautiful that I just want to spend some time petting it. I think it is going to be made into my favorite linen pants pattern. Gosh! this is beautiful! Grayed tones to it. Will be good. What bit of joy to open up in this scary world!
The linen is lovely quality but the color is much more blue than turquoise and lighter. Other colors I have ordered (besides Meadow handkerchief weight) have been very accurate
This color is almost dead-on the same color as Blue Heaven, so isn't the lovely deep-ish turquoise shown in the swatch online. In fact, the color is so close I almost could use the same thread. It's very pretty, but not turquoise. I'm giving it three stars only because of the color mismatch/misnomer; otherwise, the linen itself is divine.
I have had this colour in my stash, for quite a while. This week I purchased Stylearc EME pattern, and suddenly this was the perfect colour to use. I made up the dress, using this colour, paired with black,, and the dress is stunning. Sometimes, its just a matter of the right colour being there, when the right pattern comes along. All the more reason to fill your stash, with tons of Fabric-Store linens. The very best I have found.
It's a medium greyed green-turquoise, very close to what my laptop shows with the screen upright.. I will be making a princess-seamed tunic with it. Maybe decorated with card-weaving. It goes perfectly with my favorite long multi-color skirt. Already thinking of other projects for this color. Sphinx is a dark teal, (Meadow goes with it). Bayou Blue is much greyer than this Turquoise.
This turquoise is the most beautiful color. It is not that gaudy turquoise color seen in the big box stores today. I'm sorry I can't tell you how it washed or sewed since I am still debating patterns to use. Looking forward to working with linen-my first project.
I absolutely LOVE everything about this fabric - the color, the drape, the weight...did I mention the color????? After washing, it is absolutely exquisite! Made a beautiful tunic top and ordering more - considering a whole bolt!!!!
My order for the turquoise linen just arrived. OMGoodness - it is the most exquisite color I have ever seen in linen. I'm going to make a baby boy suit with a small amount of lace on it...It will be outstanding. I would like to tell all your customers that this turquoise is to absolutely die for. Thank you so much - every order I have had has been awesome....My collection is growing......
I love this color. My sister asked me to make some fabric bins for her in turquoise. The bins turned out beautifully. I will be buying more fabric from your company soon. Thanks
This is not a bright pale turquoise (like the actual stone) but the color of a stormy northern ocean. I am in LOVE with this color. Tonally it matches my monitor but there is something that reveals itself in person. That sort of greenish hint that isn't green, it isn't teal, it's just my favorite color blue on earth. PLEASE keep this color in stock. Also, sewing with it is a DREAM.

Beautiful fabric. My first project using this linen and the Cara Pattern from your site. I wasn't sure of my size so I ended up making it too large. When finished I put a pleat in each shoulder to narrow it down and cut the neck line deeper, then added the buttons. Next one I'll make a few inches longer and probably no pockets or at least smaller. I'm 5'3" and shorter on my left side so it takes some tweaking. It gets better and better and is now my favorite!
