IL019 All-purpose Evergreen Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.3 oz/yd2), Width 58"
Evergreen Linen’s deep, rustic green brought intensity and depth into William Holman Hunt’s mythological scenes, whether indoors or out, invoking in them the awe and wonder of the English landscape.
A leader in the Pre-Raphaelite school of painting, Hunt looked back to the innocence of medieval times, when art was more closely tied to the natural world; as a result, his colors and subjects seem to be pulled straight out of the ground. Greens from all shades of the spectrum filled his heady canvases, imbuing them with a rich, mysterious glow.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
Hi! I'm trying to decide on a green, and have narrowed it to Emerald, Evergreen and Dusty Lotus. Can you give me a comparison description of these 3? What is the base color? Does it lean toward yellow or blue I guess is what I mean. I don't really do anything with a yellow tint so any info would be helpful. Thanks!
Hello, You may want to get some samples of each of these green to see for yourself. Otherwise, I would say that Emerald would be the one with the blue base :)
I got a sample "emerald" with the same article number and oz. Is emerald and evergreen the same color?
Currently we are out of emerald in the IL019. Evergreen is not the same shade.
Is the skirt pictured by Jeanette one of FS patterns? I'd like to make this skirt! fabrics-store.com/images/grmtgallery/1184s.jpg
Unfortunately not this was either the customers design or a pattern from another vendor.
FYI Gutermann sew-all color 764 is a match for linen in EVERGREEN
Matched very well to the colour on my computer and phone screens. A luscious green, perfectly named as Evergreen. Will be using this to make a dress for attending a summer wedding (and a matching tie for my husband).
I love this shade of green! Complements a multitude of other colors and the fabric is very versatile both for clothing and home decor. It's light enough for summer and when layered is warm enough for winter. It's soft and durable enough for work clothing and holds its shape after many washes without wearing out. Linen is also a dream to work with. It doesn't slide around whole your sewing on it.
Love this evergreen color. Haven't made anything in it yet but have made many things in this weight linen. Love how it wears and is so comfortable.
I love your fabrics. I will begin to start making clothing with all the fabrics I've been collecting. I have set up a sewing room perfect for my adventures. Everyone should try your product. Do I need to pre wash before cutting out my clothing? Deborah Post billfpostaol.com
Evergreen rus pants and "the most comfortable pants I own," according to this client. I've used this linen so many times in so many projects and it always looks and feels great! Fair warning, you'll want to wash it once or twice to prevent color bleeding, but the color stays true after washing.
