Evergreen Linen’s deep, rustic green brought intensity and depth into William Holman Hunt’s mythological scenes, whether indoors or out, invoking in them the awe and wonder of the English landscape.
A leader in the Pre-Raphaelite school of painting, Hunt looked back to the innocence of medieval times, when art was more closely tied to the natural world; as a result, his colors and subjects seem to be pulled straight out of the ground. Greens from all shades of the spectrum filled his heady canvases, imbuing them with a rich, mysterious glow.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

How much shrinkage can I expect from this weight, IL019?

I'd like to make an evergreen linen tablecloth for the holidays. Is this thick enough to hold up as a tablecloth?

The color of this fabric is richer than pictured, a gorgeous foresty green. I haven't decided yet what I want to do with it, just building up a stash right now. I'm very pleased with this one!

I am so happy with my purchase. This color was a bit different than what I was expecting (my monitor showed it more blue) and since green is my favorite color, I was fine with the color I received. I made The Pansy dress pattern by Rosary Apparel. It's my favorite dress right now!! I seem to have switched most of my sewing fabrics over to linen. I love it!

FYI Gutermann sew-all color 764 is a match for linen in EVERGREEN
I bought a Doggie Bag of this fabric to make a pair of wrap pants, and not only was I able to make the pants with almost zero waste, but the way this fabric handled while sewing and ironing was nothing short of amazing. The pants are so comfortable, and after washing, they're even softer. After this experience, I will definitely buy more, and in various colors! This green was gorgeous and I can only imagine each color will be just as spectacular.
Exquisite green
Matched very well to the colour on my computer and phone screens. A luscious green, perfectly named as Evergreen. Will be using this to make a dress for attending a summer wedding (and a matching tie for my husband).
I love this shade of green! Complements a multitude of other colors and the fabric is very versatile both for clothing and home decor. It's light enough for summer and when layered is warm enough for winter. It's soft and durable enough for work clothing and holds its shape after many washes without wearing out. Linen is also a dream to work with. It doesn't slide around whole your sewing on it.

The fabric I chose for this one is the EVERGREEN in FS Signature Finish, which is a lovely green, cooler in tone and more saturated than the Dusty Lotus that I used for my Curated By You dress. Even though I have worked with Fabrics-store linen a few times now, I am awestruck each time I open the package. Their linen is really something special. I have actually never come across this quality of linen in South Africa. All of my garments made from FS linen wear beautifully, are quite soft, do not pill easily, washes really well (I do wash my clothing on a delicate wash for longevity) and are a pleasure to wear!

Evergreen rus pants and "the most comfortable pants I own," according to this client. I've used this linen so many times in so many projects and it always looks and feels great! Fair warning, you'll want to wash it once or twice to prevent color bleeding, but the color stays true after washing.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
