Dense networks of green unfurl across Henri Rousseau's tropical paradise, coloring grasses, plants and leaves with the juicy vibrancy of life. But with the richly enigmatic jewel tone of EMERALD Linen he creates mysterious pockets of darkness, where magic and danger lurk in the shadows.

Rousseau never left France, so his mystical jungle scenes are entirely imagined, but he made frequent visits to the Parisian hothouses, the natural history museum and the zoo, places that lit up his imagination with visions of another time and place. Describing the transformative power of the Parisian gardens he wrote, "When I step into the hothouses and see the plants from exotic lands, it seems to me that I am in a dream."

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces, this 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

I'm not a lover of green but it happens to be a good color for me. I took a chance and ordered this one. I'm so happy I did! The weight and texture is wonderful. The color is really nice. I am very happy with this fabric.

This is a gorgeous color, however, it is not emerald green at all. It is a deep gray green with some blue undertones. I think this color would be more aptly named "Juniper" and the color FS actually calls "Juniper", should be named "Emerald". Other than that, this linen is divine!

This is a deep rich color. Somewhere between the web colors of dark olive green, and dark green. I believe it would commonly be referred to as hunter green, seconding the above review (I copied and edited the beginning text from my other review for Black Forest). Almost a direct match to the IL019 Black Forest.

The IL019 is a beautiful green, very similar to Ralph Lauren Hunter Green, more blue than yellow as greens go. The weight is perfect for clothing, bedding, tablecloths, napkins, you name it! I plan to make a gathered box spring cover, but who knows? I may have to wear this!

Emerald middle-weight linen. So comfortable! I used the free half-sleeve linen dress pattern available here, and it worked beautifully. I have my new casual "go-to" dress.

I made this medieval dress for the Maryland Renaissance Festival. I love the hand of this particular linen, it is very flowy, but does not warp after being worn. It has a lovely colour, with blue undertones, and paired very well with my blue wool cloak.

This was a set made from emerald ILO19 linen for my sister's 48" round dining table....a 60" tablecloth that I put a 3" crocheted edge around to make it a bit bigger and a bread cloth with a 1 1/2" crocheted edge. I also made 8 napkins for this set with narrower 3/4" crocheted edges. The white "fruit" embroidered "topper" (from a kit) matches my sister's Italian dinnerware. This linen was just the right weight for all these table linens and the emerald color looks great with her greenish slate floor tiles.

A 14th century liripipe hood, lined with your Emerald (softened) linen. It's sooooo soft, thank you!

I was "Liz Taylor as Cleopatra" for Halloween 2005. I made this dress with the medium weight linen in emerald. It turned out beautifully.

These are examples of shirts in IL019. My work is sold on consignment at an East Coast Renaissance Fair.

The green shirt on the right was made using IL019 Emerald, a 5.3oz/yard fabric. My customer absolutely loved the texture and color of this fabric. Incidently, he also won the ground combatives part of the Utah Ren Faire.
