IL019 All-purpose Emerald Fs Signature Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.3 oz/yd2), Width 58"
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Customer Questions and Answers
Which kind of linen should i use to make table napkins?
A great fabric to use would be our IL019 mediumweight 100% linen. For something with a design or stripe, you can check out our IL084 and IL085 narrow width linens which are 19" and 20" wide, which can be cut into squares for napkins too.
which Gütermann thread would you recommend to go with the Emerald Linen?
We recommend Gutermann Brand Mara 340 / #788 Dark Green
What are best linen choices for making a table runner with hemstitching?
Our 1C64 Luxury medium weight linen was designed just for hemstitching. It has an even weave so your hemstitches will come out even and square. If you prefer something heavier, our 4C22 linen has a lovely rustic hand and traditional linen texture. this fabric will also hold hemstitching well.
Which linen weight should I use for dish towels, please?
Our 7 oz 4C22 fabric or the purpose made narrow width linens are ideal for this, code IL084.
Is this the proper weight for a ladies sundress ?
Yes our middle weights work well for a sundress. Our IL019 and our 1C64.
I used this for Stage Curtains for a Puppet Theater our local Nature Center. The dark emerald color was perfect for this woodsy setting! I put a 4" hem in for the header and a 4" hem in the bottom for a handsome "hang". Patrons seem delighted!
If I was to name this green I would call it Evergreen because it leans towards blue green. Emerald, to me, has more yellow in it which I don't see here and is also lighter. This is a dark green. It's a BEAUTIFUL color and just what I needed to make a skirt to go with a top I planned to wear to a party before m y nephew's wedding. I think this color will get even more beautiful as it is washed over time. As always, F/S got my order to me quickly and I couldn't be happier.
I have washed this with minimal shrinkage. Purchased this fabric to make a longhunter shirt for my husband as a Christmas present. The color is perfect (Roger's Rangers Green). Can't wait until he sees it!!!
Can't say enough about this beautiful linen. Has a lovely soft feel, wonderful drape. The color is gorgeous! I made a dress with a matching ribbon with the harvest orange linen and it turned out literally regal. Will be getting more!
I'm not a lover of green but it happens to be a good color for me. I took a chance and ordered this one. I'm so happy I did! The weight and texture is wonderful. The color is really nice. I am very happy with this fabric.
If you are familiar with my story, you might know how making one garment usually leads to making three since I have two grown daughters who usually want in on the fun. I did indeed end up making three Devin sets. The first with this beautiful FS Emerald Softened Midweight Linen and then two sets in Rifle Paper Co cotton florals. All three turned out amazing and have us ladies delighted with our new lounge wear.
