IL019 All-purpose Dove Softened - 100% Linen - Medium (5.3 oz/yd2)
DOVE
linen's near-white has just a hint of turquoise and grey, mimicking the
pale, salty light of JMW Turner's stunning Venetian marine views.
Known
as the ‘painter of light’, Turner was entranced by Venice, with its
green-blue water reflecting the sky into illusions of infinite, endless
space. The floating city became a recurring theme in his breath-taking
later work, in which picturesque views are dissolved into sublime, wide
open vistas of color and light.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
I've used this dove for several items! It's soft after washing and it is a perfect color. I thought it would be gray because of the name but it is a beautiful green gray blue. I made a sweet dress for my granddaughter and I've made several night gowns for my friend and her granddaughter!
Absolutely perfect shade of palest sea blue! Fabric great quality weight for what I needed!
I wasn't sure if "Dove" or "IL019 MEADOW" would work best for my clients project so I ordered a bit of both. This shade is the perfect pale version of Meadow so they compliment each other perfectly & work great for creating monochromatic items, such a drapes trimmed in the deeper shade or throw pillows with cording. The linen itself is a quality mid-weight linen with beautiful drape, consistent dye saturation throughout the length, & average shrinkage after wash/dry. That being said I'd recommend ordering an extra 10% (if not more) since dye lot verification isnt available and is bound to change for each roll & shrinkage will depend on the method of manufacturing. The sales are wonderful but I've noticed the larger the discounts the higher the shipping cost. Between 2 orders; The "limited time discount SF linen" had a higher shipping cost than my other order which contained more yards than the SF sale order. I wish they were more honest about the actual discount instead of trying to make up for it with inflated shipping, but despite that disappointment I'll continue to order whenever I want something for my home or its most cost effective to order from here than buying a whole lot from our manufacturing partners.
So beautiful - online now to order more!!!
I bought the linen for curtains and the quality of the linen was very nice. My only issue is the color, I should have ordered a sample before buying, because the linen is actually more baby blue than dove gray. I recommend the linen but encourage anyone ordering.a significant amount be sure to order samples.
I used fabrics-Store's Free Chelsea Pattern as a base for this 'hacked' Blouse. Instead of the pleats at the front and back, I went one size up and gathered the entire neckline. I made a slit and bound the neckline leaving long tails for ties. Once I was done I realised I could have just used the free Clara Blouse pattern haha!
