DOVE linen's near white has just a hint of turquoise and grey, mimicking the pale, salty light of JMW Turner's stunning Venetian marine views.
Known as the ‘painter of light’, Turner was entranced by Venice, with its green-blue water reflecting the sky into illusions of infinite, endless space. The floating city became a recurring theme in his breath-taking later work, in which picturesque views are dissolved into sublime, wide open vistas of color and light.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.

As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

I, too, would like to know where Sheila found the pattern for that blouse. It's a great style!

Yes it is, but unfortunately Sheila did not advise what pattern she used, but we are hoping she will respond to the requests posted for her to share it with us.

Lovely, but it is blue

This is a lovely linen. I used it for curtains for my home office. I did order a swatch first, but in full size it's actually a pale ice blue. I've never seen a blue Dove so between the tiny swatch and the name, I thought I was getting a cool gray. Luckily it still worked for my application and I'm happy with the result. The material is great quality and wonderful to work with. But if I were to name this color I'd call it Glacier.

Love Dove

I really like the color Dove. I thought it would be grey but it is more of a misty green color. I used it for a dress from NEWLOOK 6340. I had extra material so I am making a simple blouse from it too. I enjoy seeing what everyone else sews so thought I would send a review.

This linen is beautiful. I ordered 20 yards to make drapes for my bedroom. It is a dreamy blue/green/gray of the softest hue. It is a wonderful neutral color. Very soft and easy to sew.

Ordered this totally forgetting i had bought some a year before.

I ended up making the assembly line kaftan. It's so pretty. I'm lucky i found the previous doggy bag purchase since i ended needing a half yard more for the sleeves. The older purchase was only softened and the texture was slightly different but still soft. It felt thicker for some reason but i really couldn't tell after i had finished the garment. I got so many compliments on the dress and color.

I made sheets and a quilt using dove, meadow, lagoon, and sphinx all together. they are all very greyish, bluish, greens that work together to make an ombre effect.

I think dove might be my favorite!

I've used this dove for several items! It's soft after washing and it is a perfect color. I thought it would be gray because of the name but it is a beautiful green gray blue. I made a sweet dress for my granddaughter and I've made several night gowns for my friend and her granddaughter!

I fell in love with a style of cotton-lined pinch pleat linen curtains from a popular home decor company that I won't mention by name but rhymes with Shmottery Barn. Unfortunately they were 300 dollars per panel and I needed NINE. Not in the budget. So I turned to this lovely linen to make exact replicas and am very happy with the result. As I mentioned in my review, the Dove color is pale ice blue, not gray as I was expecting (yes I ordered a swatch first, but it was tiny). It's actually a stunning color if you're not expecting gray.

Having made all the curtains in our home with fabrics-store's linen, I felt I should do the same for the shower curtain in our guest bathroom. I had some IL019 Agave leftover from the guest room curtains so it seemed fitting to use it. I had bought the IL019 Dove for something else, but discovered that the 2 colors work very well together.

I used a yard of Dove SF to make NEWLOOK 6217. I like the weight and drape of this linen and have ordered other colors for fall.

Ann • August 6, 2023

New to picture posting. Hope this works NEWLOOK 6340 dress from Dove FS Signature Finish.

Ann • August 1, 2023

I love the color of dove linen. It's so soft and dreamy!

Denise • April 15, 2023

I used fabrics-Store's Free Chelsea Pattern as a base for this 'hacked' Blouse. Instead of the pleats at the front and back, I went one size up and gathered the entire neckline. I made a slit and bound the neckline leaving long tails for ties. Once I was done I realised I could have just used the free Clara Blouse pattern haha!

Lauren • December 12, 2022

The first garment I've made in years! If I gain so much as a half pound the blouse will be too tight. I found out that I'm no longer a size 8-10, rather a 12. I made all kinds of careless errors, one being cutting lines. I love this fabric!! It is so soft and sewed easily. Now I'm spoiled, I want Signature finish in a burgundy color or eggplant.

Sheila • October 9, 2022

Made an apron front skirt in Dove. I love how the color can look more grey, green, or blue at different times.
