4C22 ROYAL BLUE Softened - 100% Linen - Heavy (7.1 oz/yd2)
ROYAL BLUE linen
has the brilliant vibrancy of the Mediterranean Sea as it stretches
outwards into an infinite horizon of azure blue. French painter Henri
Matisse spent the majority of his life in Nice, where this same
limitless blue light filtered into his mind's eye, to be reimagined on
canvas as fields of electrifying ultramarine.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

First off the blue is miraculous, such vibrancy. It's very regal to me. My heart is as a weaver and I use various deep blues often trying to achieve this blue. The 7.1 weight is nice, a bit sturdier but I wear dresses everyday and am hard on my clothes; one minute I'm cooking the next digging in the garden. This weight is my new favorite. The sewn patch is a scrap from the dresses I see for my grand daughters so I super enjoy choosing and sewing that on. The girls (4) all get excited seeing the patch and remembering the dress.
This is my go-to fabric for when I need a heavier linen than the 5.3 oz Royal Blue. My only regret is that the larger threads give it a more rustic appearance than I would prefer.
This would be good as a tablecloth or a drama costume. A bit too heavy for a dress or shirt, and the color is pretty bright. Doesn't fade. Good material.
This made up into a beautiful tablecloth--I couldn't find one the right size anywhere so decided to make one. So happy I did. It goes well with R.C. Blue Fluted dishes. P.S. I pre-washed and dried on "air dry" first and didn't get much shrinkage.
Hope to see photos :)
Sturdy but hangs nicely. Used with the Noor wrap dress and it turned out wonderful. One of my favorite dresses.
Made a structural vest. I love how it holds up across the day. Great for layering.
Just what I wanted, ordered, expected, and received. A beautiful piece of linen in the perfect shade of blue. Heavy enough to stand up, light enough for summertime.
This fabric was so nice to work with. The color was a little off from the picture, but still beautiful. I made this the outer layer to a fall cape that I made.
This linen will be used for an altar antipendium, pulpit antipendium, eucharist veil and burse, and the stole and chusable for our priest for the season of advent. All who have seen it love the color and the linen. So far we have no pictures... perhaps when all is done and in place. Thank you for your service.
We purchased this linen to make covers for our couch pillows, to match the deep blue of a painting hanging in our living room. The quality of this fabric is great -- it is not too rough, is soft and not see through. It has worked out just as we hoped and was a good buy.
I used this as a lining for a 15th Century equestrian caparison (a horsey-cloak, if you will.) It was PERFECT. The weight was wonderful and I loved working with this fabric. Of course, being linen, my horse didn't suffer any heat exhaustion from wearing two layers of this. I absolutely loved this fabric and the color is so vibrant and wonderful. I'll definitely be purchasing this again for future projects.
