A vibrant dark teal shade that makes you wonder if it's blue or green. SPHINX linen's exotic jewel tone unfurls across Inka Essenhigh's evocative paintings, investing sublime oceanic depths or mysterious forests with a haunting, glowing aura. Fantastically surreal, her exquisitely detailed, atmospheric scenes collapse together natural and synthetic worlds, conveying lush, fervent landscapes populated by sprites and fairies, scenes painted with supernatural colours and the emanating light of the cinema screen.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Hello - this color looks amazing, but I'm confused because most of the photos posted look much more blue than the green in the sample? I love the bluer looking tone.Thoughts? Thank you!!

We used to have debates on if this was blue or green. Based on the swatch in house it shows more of a blue tone than green. We have samples for purchase just to be sure the color is what you are wanting.

I need to make a men's casual linen suit for a summer wedding -- pants and a jacket (and maybe a vest). Would medium weight linen be heavy enough for this project?

For suits, we recommend our heavyweight 4C22 linen which is a 7.1oz per square yard fabric and the lightest we would go for tailored suits and jackets, even for casual styles.

Colour Blocked Dress

The doggie bag cuts seem to be quite generous. I used 1/2 yard cuts of sphinx, ceramic and meadow to make a colour blocked dress for my 7 year old. The 019 weight is perfect -- not sheer but light enough to be cool in the hot weather! I tried to add a picture but wasnt't able to. Here's a link: mel-mel-o.blogspot.ca/2012/06/linen-twirly-dress
