Johannes Vermeer was a master of understatement, crafting exquisite, enigmatic beauty from quiet scenes of domestic life. AUTUMN GOLD linen's warm indulgent tone takes its cue from the golden light that ignites these hushed interiors and makes them shine with the gloss of precious metal. Strategically placed strands of complimentary colors including Delft blue and china white allow yellow tones to resonate and sing out even brighter, transforming ordinary interiors into magical places of silent wonder.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

This Color Makes Me CRAVE Fall

I have been staring at this color for months. Finally I bought it just so I can stare at it in my work basket. It won't look good on me since I am a redhead but I can't help it, some colors call to you and you must answer. I will use this as an underskirt so that it isn't next to my face but I can look down and see it all the time under my main dress. So in love with this happy hue!

Golden Jumpsuit

I made this simple jumpsuit for my daughter for her travels to Mexico City - New Look 6616 is the pattern. I didn't attach the waist tie - so she has the option to wear it loose and baggy - or tied - as she has it on here. We both love the color and the weight of the linen.

Grace profile image Golden glow

This beautiful yellow is about as dark as a gold can be without becoming a mustard yellow or a burnt umber/antique gold. It's beautiful, and of course the fabric itself is that same high quality we've come to expect of Fabrics-store.com. The medium weight makes it work well for a variety of uses.

Karina profile image This fabric is fantastic and will be perfect for anything you will decide to make

Linen has become my most favored fabric to work with. I am thrilled with the qualities of linen's texture, its earthy scent, and wrinkles formed whilst wearing it. I fell in love with this colour when I first began to sew.

Wonderful fabric

This was my first time sewing with Fabrics-Store.Com linen and it won't be the last (already ordered more). Used it to make Sew House Seven's Burnside Bibs and had enough left over to make an outfit for my granddaughter. Used both a traditional sewing machine (Singer 15-91, with the ruffler) and a new serger, and the fabric responded beautifully to everything I asked it to do. Will definitely be using this fabric again!

Brittney profile image Ring sling diy

Love baby wearing, but slings can be pricey and I can sew... So I wanted to try making one myself. I looked up instructions and also researched fabric which led me to this site. Love how my sling turned out!! Made a single layer and the color is beautiful, fabric is cool for summer, and baby is happy!

Golden Shift

Mom is tired of dressing "like a grandma" and wanted something to wear in hot weather - Autumn Gold linen and a shift dress pattern to the rescue, then I used thumb sized faux amber beads (in gold, orange, and red) with gold glass beads to add a strand of color to add a little interest to the outfit. It can be dressed up or down, depending on if she's going to church or sitting around the house and Mom loves it. I'm being asked for more linen garments!

Wonderful fabric for applique.

I have made several tunics with this material as applique on them. It has been a breeze to work with and feels real nice.

made a custom hacked blouse inspired by 1800s womens shirts! I was worried the Autumn Gold was going to be too dark based on the swatch, but sewn all together it has the perfect tone I was looking for

As most Sewists, I have a big collection of scrap pieces and remnants. I am always looking for projects to make these scraps useful. The Bombazine Mitt is the perfect remnant busting project. The mitt is quick, easy, useful, and makes a great gift! For step by step tutorial go here : blog.fabrics-store.com/2020/06/07/one-yard-project-bombazine-mitt-sewalong/

I wanted to make a festive dress with cotton embroidery and a tulle skirt for my daughter Emma. I started to sew a fair amount, learn about sewing techniques and pattern making. You can find my work on my little Etsy store: etsy.com/shop/botanicaclothes
