Customer Questions and Answers
I am unable to print out pages 10-14. One of those pages is the placket. I might be able to guess at that but would really like to print the whole pattern out. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help!
We are able to print the placket pages, perhaps you could try turning on all layers for those pages - if you have turned some off for printing individual sizes.
It was easy and fun to make. I didn't make buttonholes, I just sewed the buttons on through both plackets. I'm very small chested so I had to take in the area under my arms but that was easy. You need to try on the camisole to adjust the straps. It turned out beautifully.
I really like this cami. I am tall 5"9 and only added .75" to length as I wasn't sure if I wanted to wear it longer or shorter and tucked in, the results are that it hits me mid hip. I made size 8/10 but brought in the side seams by an additional 1/2 inch each side, making sure it still flowed over the hip area. The arm scythe is a bit higher on me but you can make your shoulder straps the length you want. Made out of a polka dot linen. It's cool and breezy for hot weather and because its less shaped- bra is optional.
So glad I made a trial of this in cotton batiste, it needs a lot of tweaking. The straps sit too wide on my shoulders, the front and the underarm gape too much. Even adding 4 cm darts on the underarm hasn't helped, I think I need to remove another 4cm across the front to add some modesty so I can turn this into a wearable top.
I made this with hankerchief linen from FS in white. So very pretty but I'd add some length next time. The straps end up being almost too wide on my shoulders. I'd change this next time.
I have used this pattern in a couple of different ways as you can see in Post Your Work. I do have to size up but I have a large torso for my size. I normally wear a 14 US but sized up to 16 US and I like my tops a little loose too. Great pattern and Great linen.
Made from 100% Linen with embroidered polka dots. Canadian fabric shop- Fabricland. Made pull on linen shorts to match. I copied a pair I already owned. I had not done a placket like this one before, it was a bit challenging so not perfect, but It was wonderful to learn this!
This was my first PDF pattern. So this was excellent practice with a PDF. It was nice because it only had two main pieces. The instructions were good. I hadn't made bias tape so the link was helpful. I didn't add the placket this time because I wanted this cami to wear under low cut linen dresses and blouses. I skipped the toile because I was too impatient but I did end up adding two extra tucks infront and a pleat in the back. I made this from DB IC64 Optic White Softened FS linen. I recommend this pattern if you're new to PDF patterns. I would make it again!
Made one without button placate or waist tie. Made another one with not placate or waist tie but added a ruffle on the bottom also. Very easy to make and I wash my fabric before and also the product after construction and found there were no problems with fit whatsoever. Used a softened linen from the Fabrics-Store.
I made a size 4-6 though size chart suggested 0-2 based on the bust measurement. I paired it with purl soho city gym shorts for summer lounge set. I love the pintucks and tie belt as the design detail. I ran into a couple of issues: 1. Front arm hole was gaping (and you can see that in the model pictures too). I pinched extra fabric and sewed it into a dart and it lays better. As the other reviewer mentioned (comments on the tutorial page) - gather before putting in the binding - I think this would be a more elegant looking solution. 2. After sewing in the binding, at places the fabric came out of the binding at several places at the slightest tug while I was trying it out. Perhaps I should have used 2 step method to attach the binding or use a wider binding. I feel like its gonna happen at more places as I wash/wear this so likely I'd have to do redo the bias binding. I used 100% linen for this project. I must add I am a beginner and not that proficient at sewing.
