I made these, first as shorts. Actually I dont like shorts, but these were long enough that they didnt bother me too much. But then I extended these into pants and omg they are my favorite pants. I used a mid-weight linen and I could just live in them. They are dressy enough to wear to work, but loose enough with the elastic waist that they can just as easily be house pants or pajamas. Super easy sew, since its just a half elastic waist, no buttons or zippers. Def try making these as shorts or pants! I need to make a few more pairs of these!
I'm not a fan of myself in shorts, but was looking for a pattern and came across these. To put it simply I love them. The sizing is accurate and they were so easy to make I made two pairs in a day (one in linen, one in denim). I left off the rear pockets, as I know they wouldn't have been flattering for my figure, and on one pair I messed the pockets up and somehow attached them inside out. But that was the denim pair and I luckily the contrast looks intentional. I'm going to try one of the dress patterns next.
After conquering the Agustina top, I made these Jules shorts. I've sewn for over 50 years using conventional patterns, andI had to reset my 78 year-old brain to be able to assemble the patterns and learn new techniques. It's been a challenge, but I love both Agustina and Jules....perfect for comfy and casual wear. I also appreciate all of the excellent support! I
The legs on this pattern were much wider than they appeared in the photos. And they came out looking too baggy. Luckily I made them up in a muslin first..
Love these shorts. Easy to follow pattern, and great fit. Made in Natural IL019, and they are perfect.
I love the Jules pattern and your detailed instructions. Knowing from the other reviewers that the pattern has plenty of room i decided to make French seams without adding any seam allowance. I also made the shorts a bit longer and the waist band wider to make them more city style.
