Fairly easy pattern but instructions include some mistakes. Cutting instructions say to cut 6 ties for two pillowcases, actually you need 6 for each pillow so cut 12. Final step says to topstitch all 4 sides of the pillowcase but of course that would mean sewing the case shut without an open side to insert your pillow. Don't do that!
Thanks for letting us know! We have updated the pattern.
Does the pattern include the sham in the back of the photo? (Almost looks like chenille?) Love the site and fabric...so 5 stars!
You have a great eye! For the "chenille" effect we sewed small bias-cut strips to the base fabric in a honeycomb pattern. Then when it was washed it fluffed up to what you see in the photo!
I found the instructions and illustrations to be confusing, and ultimately had to ignore them. (It looks as if the ties are supposed to be folded in half before being inserted into the seams, but they're not. Ultimately, I made 6 ties for each pillow case, each 7" long.) The cutting instructions for the case itself were simple and a perfect fit. Once I stopped trying to make sense of the tie instructions, I was able to figure out how they needed to be inserted, and the cases went together easily. I like the inside pocket flap and tie combination, and the crisp topstitched border.
