I see that you've explained that this symbol is known as a Hamsa, (sometimes called the Hand of Fatima), and yes, it is a symbol of protection, but I am puzzled about referencing it for Hanukkah. It's not really related to that holiday. Giving this as a gift to one's Jewish friends for Hanukkah might be a bit confusing. In fact many scholars indicate that it has roots in Islam and from there found its way into Sephardic Jewish culture, both of which flourished around the same time. Contemporary Jewish culture does include this symbol but not for Hanukkah. I think it is a beautiful symbol, but I think a better one for Hanukkah would be a menorah or a dreidel.

What size thread, and what material thread should I use to hem these tea towels. I was thinking size 50 and cotton? Stitch length recommended? Also, I purchased a linen ( DB IC008) for a nightgown. Thread recommendation for that fabric? Thank you in advance your help. Helen

Hello, our thread suggestions can be found in our Help center article here: support.fabrics-store.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058715271-Sewing-with-Linen-Needle-and-Thread-Suggestions For linen we enjoy smaller stitch lengths, and for the cottons, your standard stitch length is appropriate.
