Description:

Every “Tea Towel” Sew Kit is printed on heavy, luxurious cotton and can be sewn in a few easy steps.

The size of the unwashed, printed panel (includes 2 towels) is 44 x 32".
The size of one finished ( hemmed) and washed towel is 20 x 30" ( includes 4% shrinkage width and length based on a warm prewash and drying on low heat.

It requires cutting off the extra fabric for each towel by dividing lines, pressing cloth, and sewing straight lines around the edges of each towel from the set.

This project does not require high professional skills but requires passion and curiosity for sewing.

This can be a good project for beginners who want to create their own collection of Kitchen Tea Towels. All designs are created exclusively for F|S.

These Kitchen Tea Towels might work on drying the dishes or can be beautiful decorative objects in your kitchen or a gift for your friend...

Do these come with clear instructions on how to do this? Should I wash/dry before starting? What stitch should I use if I only have a basic machine? Thanks!

I just made a set of these (and many others of these designs) for our biennial quilt show sale table. I anticipate they will be wildly popular! They're absolutely beautiful!!!

I have a question about the description: " These Kitchen Tea Towels might work on drying the dishes". Might? Are these really just for decoration?

I think the intention here with the wording was to sound as if they CAN dry the dishes, but many find them very beautiful that they don't want to! These towels are 100% designed to dry dishes.

These are great, big, and beautifully printed... I like to wash my linen or cotton before sewing, so serge, straight stitch or zigzag around before washing. Then you can cut and hem. Beautiful as gift to someone or yourself.

A handsome addition to the kitchen!

That aside, I think the printed towels are lovely! They make a nice, large towel and have a nice feel to them. They also hang nicely. These cotton towels pair nicely with my linen towels that are also made with Fabrics-Store linen toweling. I purchased this set to make as a gift and for my household. I recommend this product. After my review of the village rooster tea towels, I realized this product is not technically labeled as a "kit", though it is found under the category of "Sewing Kits". So I suppose a person receiving this as a gift wouldn't know the difference. My complaint is nitpicky, I know! But my first impression upon opening the set and seeing all the ribbon it was wrapped in was, where's the twill tape? So I thought I would share that. The towels are beautiful, though!

Finished towel

Hanging in the kitchen after being washed, line dried, fluffed in the dryer, and then used a few times to dry wet hands.

I used a 6-inch piece of twill tape to make my hanging loop so I could easily stuff the entire towel through it to secure it to an oven or dishwasher handle or the right kind of drawer pull because my kids always manage to drop the towels on the floor or wad them up.
