Eerie, enigmatic silence circulates through the art of Swiss Symbolist Arnold Bocklin, conveying brooding places hovering between the waking and dreaming worlds.
Bocklin predominantly painted the rough and tumble of the wilderness with a hazy light, punctuated by vivid, inky passages of darkness in shades of blue and dark purple like SWEET GRAPE. This color allowed him to bring quiet areas of shadow to life, investing them with an unfolding mystery, hinting at quiet narratives that we may never fully know.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

The sweet grape is a fabulous dark purple color. It is dark enough to be elegant, muted enough to be sophisticated and not bright, but not so dark or muted that the rich color is not obvious. In comparing this one to eggplant, the eggplant has a redder tone; this sweet grape has more of a blue hue in it, although both are distinctly purple when viewed separately.
Just got this linen and it is my favorite color. Please make it in a heavier weight (4C22). It is a very sophisticated purple color. Very flattering to my skin tone; I would imagine everyone could say that. Excellent dye job!!!
This is the perfect regal purple color. The pattern is a Seamwork/ Collette Chantilly, modified for using linen, unlined, with a substituted half circle skirt instead of the gathered, shorter one in the pattern, and hand-embroidery on the yoke. This fabric drapes beautifully, is soft on the skin, and feels wonderful; it is the most comfortable special occasion dress I've ever worn. Even after being folded and rolled up in a suitcase, it didn't need ironing before the outdoor party. I am enthralled with Fabrics-store's signature finish linen!

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
