At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.

As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Some time ago, I asked why Fabric-Store doesn't at least recommend thread colors for each fabric color and type and sell them as well. Just the recommendation would be amazing, let alone to be able to add the thread to the order. This would be an incredible help to everyone who buys your fabric and a boon in sales for you. So, why is this still not an option?? It seems like a no-brainer to me.

A Great Color

I picked up a piece of the Silver linen from the Doggie Bag to make some dinner napkins and cocktail napkins to up my tabletop game. The color is ideal for both uses. Now I just have to find the time to make enough of those dinner napkins for a dinner party.

Cynthia profile image Really looks Silver

Typically I use satin ribbon to get a metallic look on my Tallit order. A client wanted all linen and not the ribbon so I went looking at my favorite linen store! You had a middle weight called "silver" so I decided to give it a try. When I opened the package, the fabric was almost shiny!! After washing, the shininess dulled just a bit but it will still pass as silver! I love it and so will my client!

Another Lovely Shade to Blend

My favorite way to audition new colors is buy buying some as a doggy bag. Did you realize that 0.30 is almost 12" x width, in this case about 56 ".. Plenty for accent details, a gift bag or more. Lots of bias can be cut, and ready if it is color you like... although in all honesty I like them ALL! I LOVE THIS LINEN! Small accessories are quick to sew up and especially profitable at these prices!

I had some of the floral print linen left from that last make, the Hinterland hack, so I decided to try again pairing Silver with it. This time I used it just as bias seam binding turned to the outside and a wider strip of it along the bottom of the skirt of this Demeter Dress by Anna Allen patterns. This is such a subtle, lovely color, and it's a perfect complement for the floral print. I used Gütermann thread color 102, which gets lost in it, the match is so good.

I chose the contrast linen first, then from Fabrics-Store.com I ordered swatches of a few different greys and blues before settling on Silver to complete this dress, which is a hack based on the Hinterland Dress by Sew Liberated. I gave it my own shawl collar and turn-back sleeves. I do love linen!
