Turn of the 20th century Russian painter Isaac Levitan brought sparkling shades of pale gold like NEW WHEAT into many of his most celebrated paintings, lighting them up with the brilliant luminescence of summer and early autumn.

A leader in a period known as the golden age of Russian landscape painting, Levitan captured the radiance of his native Russia with sparkling clarity, conveying its wide, expansive skies and vivid golden light. He simultaneously invested his art with an ambient, emotional resonance that foreshadowed the Symbolist painters a generation later.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I would say this is too light for their khaki color and their brown is more like our Ginger - I would look at that color and the Safari both in IL019

This fabric and store are everything

This fabric is LOVELY. The color my phone shows in the sample doesn't do it justice. It's like warm summer sun. The fabric is incredibly resilient (withstanding seams sewn and ripped out 3 times in some areas.) Included in my pics (the dress lining) is the bleached white hankerchief weight linen also purchased from here (also perfection.) Gutermann washable silk thread Col. 968 is a near perfect match. And finally, my kudos to Maureen... I initially ordered a heavier weight linen and was having second thoughts the morning after. When I called Maureen she quickly replied, got my order updated and on its way. Just fantastic service.

The color I have been waiting for!

I ordered 2 yards to see if the color was what I was looking for, and it was, I am in love with it! This is my all time favorite color and not easy to find. It's a warm golden wheat color, more on the golden side. Washes and sews like a dream. I used the 2 yards for napkins and came back for 10 yard to make a shams and a duvet cover. I also can't say enough about Maureen, Patrica and the rest of the F|S team, super helpful and quick to answer questions! I have been shopping here for 10 years and have been happy with each purchase. F|S is my go to for making gifts for family and friends. I recently had an issue with a delivery that was miss delivered and F|S was fabulous about it! I am a customer for life!

Beautiful

I cannot describe this color as anything other than the perfect gold of a field of ripe wheat. It's truly lovely.
