From dusty mountaintops to well-trodden tracks beaten dry by the sun, soft shades of pink like DESERT SAND crop up time and again in Post-Impressionist Paul Gauguin’s art.
He coupled this warm, hazy shade with lush, tropical greens and blues, conveying far flung, idealized and paradisiacal escapes from the grey smoky haze of the increasingly industrialized Paris where he spent his early adult years. In his hands, this soft pink became the vibrating color of the earth, a fertile and foundational, life-sustaining substance from where all plants and trees emerge.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Would this fabric be suitable for a baby wearing ring sling? I've got a grandchild on the way and would like to make one for my daughter.

I'm usually not a fan of 'pink' but this is a color I can work with for little girl's clothing!
This is a rose with some tan. One of my favorite colors of lipstick or blush, great with warm skin tones. I'm starting with a blouse because this weight will be comfortable most of the year in Florida. I imagine the Redwood color would be in the same family.
I just love this luscious color! It's what I would call a muted coral. I've been purchasing linen from Fabrics Store for about 8 years and have never been less than perfectly happy. I design and hand block print my own patterns on mostly linen but also some cotton and then sew items which I've been selling online at CalendulaHandmade.etsy.com since 2017. FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
