At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

How close to the picture is this. my screen, is showing it as a purple red.

Hello, All screens will show colors slightly differently, so the only way to be sure of the color is to see it in person. it is a good idea to order a sample to see it in person before committing to your yardage.

An ideal fabric and a beautiful color for a little girl's vintage flower girl dress.
Very pleased with the fabric. Not sure as I didn't measure on shrinkage, but with natural fibers I always allow extra just in case. I ordered 2 yards and needed only 1 1/3 for this top, which is a major modification of the Day Dress by the Avid Seamstress. There wasn't a sample listed when I ordered them so I asked in the comments and they kindly sent me a swatch, which turned into my order and this top. Thank you! Will likely use this same fabric base for some slacks soon.
The fabric is indeed high quality, but when washed, it shrank from 4 yards to about 3.5 yards.
Nice deep blue red
I really like this color, it's deep and not muted. Linen is a bit crisp and sews well. I made the Nico maxi dress but tighten the armholes up a bit since I have a full bust and didn't want gapping. I would recommend this product.

I loved the color the moment I saw this - a deep purple red. I sewed the Nico maxi dress and it came out well. I took in an inch under each arm, otherwise the armholes gasped. This is a heavier blend and works well for the long dress.

This fabric is SO soft and comfortable. I converted the Avid Seamstress Day Dress pattern (very snug fitting, seam at waist with dirndl-style skirt and very short sleeves and jewel neck) into the top you see. I will definitely be using this linen again, in a different color, for some new summer slacks.
Nico maxi dress in Beet Red. Fairly easy if you are experienced at all, I took in about an inch under each arm so the armhole didn't gape. Also afterwards used a decorative stitch around the neck, armholes and hem in the same color red to give it a little extra interest. .
Beet Red is my new favorite fabrics-store color, breaking the previous three way tie between sphinx, abyss & dulse! Dulse is a deep blue red. Its bluer than dulse. Wild cherry is less saturated (more gray) than beet. On my screen, beet on the website looks much darker than beet in real life (this is true for most Il019 colors).

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
