IL019 All-purpose Barn Red Fs Signature Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.3 oz/yd2), Width 58"
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

If I order tomorrow, how soon would it arrive? IL019 All-purpose Barn Red Fs Signature Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.3 oz/yd2), Width 59". 5 and a half yards
Hello, estimated times for shipping are listed in the cart area based on the shipping type selected.
Good morning, Could you give the high bust measurement of the Nico pattern please. I'm just checking that this is an orange red and not a blue red. Thanks, Chris Ertel
This linen is an Orange/red color. The highest bust size is 52 1/4
I was looking for a beautiful warm tomato red and this color linen is perfect. With just the right amount of an orange hue, this Barn Red is exactly as described. The fact that is a Signature Linen is just a bonus. I would definitely consider this red if you are looking for something in this color family.
I was looking for a very specific orangey-red and I was nervous that the color wouldn't match in person, but this linen was absolutely perfect! It's also a good weight for the lightweight lined jacket I'm making!
I've gotten this and the Beet Red as well. They were quite different, and this one definitely matches what I think of a a barn red. Still thinking about how to use this, but wanted to find out for myself. I Love this linen! After I receive package I sort into color groups, prewash and dry. Hot wash, cold rinse, and hot drying guarantees pre shrinking. I add a dye magnet to the laundry load, and use regular detergent. Works great!
I have a continuum of reds that I love, and Barn Red is definitely the favorite. My continuum goes from Mecca Orange (PLEASE RESTOCK!!) -> Barn Red -> Kenya -> Spice; the tones move from decidedly orange quickly to darker brick. All lovely. Barn Red best marries both brick and orange undertones, nothing harsh or loud about it, and incredibly flattering.
My last order included these two colors. On my monitor they we're different colors. Now that I have them they are exactly the same (beet red). Thought one may lighten and redden after washing and drying but nope still exactly the same. ???
The lovebirds – a most addictive little sewing project. They require just a few simple supplies and a quiet afternoon or evening. This tiny project can be used for a variety of purposes, the first being a Valentine's gift for any age, especially when given as a pair. As a pretty gift topper tied under a bow for any occasion, and as a soft, natural, safe baby or toddler toy. I've also used them as Christmas decorations; think two turtle doves. Countless little birds have been used all over Etsy as mobiles as well. This cute bird pattern went viral when it was designed and released by Michael Fulkerson in 2008 while he was working as a sewing teacher at Spool Sewing, a fabric store in Philadelphia. Originally created to encourage people to learn to sew by hand, Spool has since closed, so you'll need to find another place online to download the file – like this.
Beeswax Food Wraps. The idea occurred to me that these food wraps would be a very cute Valentine Gift with a little card and treat. I have heard so much about these food wraps as a more sustainable option than cling-wrap or plastic wrap for food storage. Typically, it seems like people use cotton more than linen for this project. Here are my thoughts on this: all the natural antibacterial, hypoallergenic and sustainable properties of linen make linen a great choice for me! I used Fabrics-store's Light Pink Softened, Sahara Rose SF and Barn Red 5.3oz as well as the Pink Cotton Gingham 3.6oz and can see that I might have preferred the 3.7 oz for the linens just for the thinner fabric but am still pleased with my project in both linen and cotton.
I used the red + blue fabric to create a very soft raggedy-anne type outfit in my school colors for an art-school graduation. It was so incredibly easy to work with that it's won me over to linen forever, I think! This photo is taken in natural light, so the color seems a bit more washed out than it is in person, but the "IL019 All-purpose Barn Red Softened" is a very rich, vibrant red, leaning just a little more towards rust or scarlet shades. the other fabric here is "IL019 All-purpose Cerulean Softened" which is also mid-weight, very soft, very comfortable. While I made this outfit for my graduation, I ended up wearing my graduation outfit all summer because it was so comfortable. I want to stress that it was very easy to sew all sorts of tricky seams on this fabric—I could press it down with my fingers and it would hold position when sliding it through my sewing machine, but still the fabric stayed soft! It was wonderful to work with.
