IL095 Durable Natural - 100% Linen Fabric - Very Heavy (10.2 oz/yd2), Width 59"
The Natural color in this fabric is the earth made color of flax when it has been retted and woven into thread. No dyes, no bleach. The only thing that impacts the color of the cloth from one production to the next ( if it is more beige or grey) is the amount of sunshine and rain that particular flax harvest had.
At a heavier weight of 10.2 ounces this 59 inch wide Natural linen really shows the texture and linen characteristics giving you a linen that is perfect for projects needing that extra weight and durability.

Yes, We do. But we do not have an ETA yet.
I have tried to purchase this but it comes up as sold out. I would like 10 yards.
I'm sorry this fabric is sold out completely.
Do you recommend washing your linen fabrics before using to upholster furniture or before making window treatment panels? Thank you!
If the fabric will be steam cleaned or washed during it life, it is recommended to pre-wash to remove shrinkage. This will prevent shrinkage down the line when your items have been made.
Does it come in other colors?
No this is only available in the Natural.
Is that a canva? Would it work as a strength layer for corsetry / stays?
Hello, Yes this is what is known as a canvas weight and is strong and sturdy. You can use it in your stay but we recommend checking if the weight is right to match any other fabrics you may be using too. If you need further assistance, please email or use the contact us form :)
What percentage shrinkage?
Expect up to 10% shrinkage on the width and length.
how close in color is this to the 4C22? I have 2 chairs slipcovered in the 4C22 and want to do a duvet cover possibly in this heavier linen. We will it match?
Hello - The natural linen color is dependent on the harvest of flax for that run so there may be some variation due to these natural factors. If you want to check the color please order a sample :)
Is this the same as the IL090? Is that available as a bolt?
This fabric is heavier than IL090 by around 2oz, and is not pre-softened in any way. There are bolts available as shown on this page.
What is the expected shrinkage of this fabric? Warm machine wash, low temperature machine dry.
This fabric has an estimated shrinkage of 10%
I'm going to cover a sofa and possibly some chairs. Should I line this?
Generally, our customers have found they do not need to line this, but it is personal preference.
Is this the same as linen canvas that can be stretched and used for oil painting, after priming?
Yes, you can use this fabric for panting.
What linen do you have for a couche- do you have a natural unprocessed linen?
Hello, This fabric is 100% unprocessed natural linen and does not have any softeners applied to the fabric, so it is ideal for a backers couche.
Hello! Would this fabric be suitable (after washing using your softener) for embroidered dishtowels? -Christopher
Hello Christopher, This fabric is very sturdy and might be too thick for some embroidery. We recommend getting a sample so you can feel it in person to check it's suitability. Generally we will recommend our 4C22 heavyweight linen for this purpose.
Would this be suitable for curtains for my Gazebo? How much does it shrink when washed?
This fabric can make lovely structured curtains for outdoor use. But please understand these fabrics do not have outdoor coatings. We recommend you get a sample to see if this fabric is right for you. This fabric can shrink up to 10% when using our recommended washing instructions.
Would this fabric be suitable for drapes that will be lined with blackout material?
Yes you can use this fabric for drapes. We always recommend getting a sample or small cut to make sure this fabric is what you had in mind.

Is it at all possible to source this weighted linen in the optic white color?
I'm sorry this fabric is only available in this color.
Would this make good work pants for the farm and garden
This is a popular option for gardening and work. Please keep in mind this is 100% linen and doesn't have any synthetic fibers mixed in to it which is what is the norm for work pants since those fibers are longer wearing for especially rough work.
Can this linen be overdyed a different color? I'd like to do a blue. Are there any particular dyes you would recommend?
I will send the information we have on dyeing linen directly to the email we have on file.
I've had linen for many years. Below the washed linen appears like seersucker NOT linen. I'm concerned it's Not 100% linen, I wash my linen and it has no lint, nor does it pucker. I'm looking for a large amount and need to be assured this is what it says. I would be most grateful for FS help with my concerns. Kind Regards, J.
This is 100% linen and the pictures show it washed and unwashed so it would depend on what you are using it for and if you are going to launder it. I would recommend ordering a yard to test to make sure it works for your project before you purchase a large amount, just to be sure.
This linen is my starting point for all of my sewing of reenactment clothing. I send everyone I know to this site for this staple fabric. It takes dye well, but also is lovely just as it is. This natural linen is the core, and I'm sad to see it's currently sold out.
After looking online for pure linen undyed towels, I decided to check here for heavy linen. Oh, this is perfect! I yard makes one bath towel for a fraction of the price! I now have two bath towels, a separate long hair towel, and some small washcloths all for less that the price of one towel online. Unbeatable. It washes and softens nicely but retains that lovely exfoliating quality and dries in the classic linen quickness. Couldn't be happier.
This linen is exactly as described. It has a nice heft and a lovely, rustic drape after washing. It also irons extremely well which I appreciate especially when hemming. It's perfect for my intended use, I'm very pleased with this fabric.
I always like to wait a while before I leave reviews so I can gauge how fabric holds up over time. This natural linen has only gotten better! We have dogs so my slipcover gets washed frequently and it's becoming softer with time. I prewashed and dried the linen before I made the slipcover but I have never bothered to iron it. It was a bit wrinkled the first time through the wash but I certainly have no issues with wrinkles now. I also have a couple of chairs that are upholstered in this linen. I left it unwashed for upholstery and they look great!
Recovered my sofa in this fabric and I couldn't be more pleased.
I purchased 3 yards of 1L095 in Natural to upholster the seat and back of this antique settee. I needed to match the color of the antique German grain sack I also used for this piece so when the fabric arrived it was just a bit more on the gray side rather than a warm brown which I needed. I tea stained this beautiful heavy linen and it came out amazingly close to the color I was matching. I loved working with this linen. It was the perfect choice for upholstery. The settee is currently for sale on my Facebook business page: facebook.com/profile.php?id=100087347349980
