This is a 19" wide twin to the 4C22 Rustic linen line.

Woven out of the same size thread and with the same thread density this IL084 is just woven to be narrow. That means less cutting time for you and you can get to the fun part of using your linen items sooner.

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a larger variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color. Design created exclusively for F|S.

Narrow width cloth is great for:

  • Shopping bags
  • Purses
  • Placemats
  • Runners
  • Decorative pillows
  • Kitchen towels
  • Appliance covers
  • Potholders
  • Cushions

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Do you have to iron after every wash? I can't imagine most people doing that. I love the look though and juicy fruit gum is the perfect description

It is a personal preference to iron after every wash, but most people take them out of the dryer still damp and smooth them out so the wrinkles are not as pronounced. Some will forgo the dyer and let them lay then flat to dry. Please follow this link for a visual of this linen, in various colors, not ironed, the customer also left her tips on how to launder - no ironing mentioned. fabrics-store.com/fabrics/linen-fabric-IL084-mlt-25-softened-olivier-heavy

Remnant was great for a towel

I purchased 2 remnants that will be finished to be tea towels. The fabric is very nice. I'm old school and pulled a thread to 'straighten' the fabric. I'm thrilled that the stripes are actually run in a line and when the hem is folded over the stripes match. I purchased softener and do hope that with laundering the hand softens up a bit.

Elaine profile image Durable fabric in happy colors.

This is a durable fabric and fun colors. They do look like fruitstripe gum! I made tea towels for Christmas gifts. Using a decorative stitch on frayed edges in a matching color, straight stich on side hems. I'm sure they will be a huge hit. I will be ordering more for myself.

Happy colors

I made kitchen hand towels from 7 of the colors. I bought 3 yards each and cut 28". I got 4 towels. Makes a beautiful gift and livens up the kitchen for summer. Very easy to work with. I left the salvage on. Surged and folded the edge.

Love This Fabric

My daughter wanted towels as thank you gifts for her colleagues. The orange and white are the university colors. Suggestions: Straighten the cut edge by pulling a weft thread, cut, and then stitch the cut edge. I wash on gentle and dry on low heat. I wash a second time and remove the fabric from the dryer while it is still damp. Before ironing with no steam, I relax the wrinkles by placing both hands on opposite sides and pulling the selvages. Then I iron.

I love this fabric! I can't wait to get the rest of the colors and add them to my collection!

In July of 2022, I bought 6 yards of each of the yellow, orange and green IL084 Olivier stripes. My plan at that time was to make either placemats or towels or both for our new house. It was in November of 2022 when the house was finished and we were able to move in. At some point, I got the idea to use the fabric for curtains for our oversized pantry (aka Giganta-Pantry). This is the final result. With IL019 Bleached peeking through from the semi-sheer layer. Semi-sheer because that window faces south and gets a lot of the Texas sun. This fabric was a dream to sew, too. Perhaps because it is a little heavier fabric.

LOVE your linen, and love hand embroidery. And.....I have a passion for dish towels.

I bought 3 yards of 7 of the colors and made 4 hands towels each. This will make beautiful gifts and liven up my own kitchen. I love the colors. Like Juicy Fruit Gum. I did not pre wash as it wasn't going to make a difference. I cut 27" widths and surged and turned the ends. I left the salvage on. Quick and easy. The towels dry so fast you really don't have to put them in the dryer. Even in humid south Florida.
