This is a 19" wide twin to the 4C22 Rustic linen line.

Woven out of the same size thread and with the same thread density this IL084 is just woven to be narrow. That means less cutting time for you and you can get to the fun part of using your linen items sooner.

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a larger variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color. Design created exclusively for F|S.

Narrow width cloth is great for:

  • Shopping bags
  • Purses
  • Placemats
  • Runners
  • Decorative pillows
  • Kitchen towels
  • Appliance covers
  • Potholders
  • Cushions

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

General inventory tip Doggie Bag

I saw another buyer post a general tip about uses, I'm going to post a tip about purchases for items to help with inventory, use, etc. Wish I'd have thought of this from the start. This is particularly helpful to me with regard to pricing. I love to shop the Doggie Bag! Best bargains, especially if you sew small simples like gift bags. I this toweling is my fav! Colorful in cheery colors which could also be considered for some as seasonal. This green cold be used for Winter holidays, St Patrick's Day, spring in general for example. Anyway, when a new order comes in, before washing I enter info along the selvedge. This helps me with pricing items I create. Doggie bag is always my first place to look. Unless, I have a large amount of a another type to purchase. It might help other small business owners.

Cheerful dishtowels!

This fabric washes and dries with a nice resultant rumple and a good hand. I take mine out of the dryer when not quite dry, stretch out the edges to get creases out and lay over my clothes drying rack for a very quick dry. I made 10 dish towels for my daughter to help cheer up her kitchen, adding sewn-on tags. I pulled threads and cut to get an even fringe, then zig-zagged the ends. Very pleased.

Beautiful linen towels and gifts

My friend loves linen and the color green and orange. I bought a yard each of the green and orange in this fabric. It arrived stiff. I serged the raw edges, then gave both two trips through the washer and dryer. The fabric softened quite a bit. After an ironing, I hemmed the edges and attached a white linen hanging "hook". The result: two striking linen towels that should last and delight for a very long time. I plan to make some for myself soon. I highly recommend this fabric. Later, I saw online some linen kitchen towels that cost four times as much. Thank you, Fabrics Store, for your work to bring such beautiful linen fabric to happy sewists and gift recipients!

I'm making kitchen towels for gifts this year, and this narrow-width linen mixes and matches perfectly with a variety of the the cotton tea towel kits.

In July of 2022, I bought 6 yards of each of the yellow, orange and green IL084 Olivier stripes. My plan at that time was to make either placemats or towels or both for our new house. It was in November of 2022 when the house was finished and we were able to move in. At some point, I got the idea to use the fabric for curtains for our oversized pantry (aka Giganta-Pantry). This is the final result. With IL019 Bleached peeking through from the semi-sheer layer. Semi-sheer because that window faces south and gets a lot of the Texas sun. This fabric was a dream to sew, too. Perhaps because it is a little heavier fabric.

LOVE your linen, and love hand embroidery. And.....I have a passion for dish towels.

And here are the matching Kitchen Towels!

Lauren • December 12, 2022

I had a moment to sew up a Christmas gift for a friend who loved my sisters kitchen set. They didn't need an apron, so I made two kitchen towels and two pot holders; one rounded and one square. I love a little bit of hand sewing, so I bias bound the pot holders and hand stitched down one side, rather than doing a machine topstitch.
