IL084 Narrow Width Olivier White/slate Mlt-23 Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.1 oz/yd2), Width 19"
This is a 19" wide twin to the 4C22 Rustic linen line.
Woven out of the same size thread and with the same thread density this IL084 is just woven to be narrow. That means less cutting time for you and you can get to the fun part of using your linen items sooner.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a larger variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color. Design created exclusively for F|S.
Narrow width cloth is great for:
- Shopping bags
- Purses
- Placemats
- Runners
- Decorative pillows
- Kitchen towels
- Appliance covers
- Potholders
- Cushions
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
Which solid shades of gray/blue linen would you say best match the pretty gray/blue stripes in this fabric?
our 4C22 Bleached is the perfect match to the white and the Slate color is closest to 4C22 Monument or Asphalt.
Does this fabric pleat nicely -need to recover an old ottoman and fabric needs to be pleated all around ?
Yes, this fabric will pleat nicely. Please note that this fabric is 20" wide, so if covering an ottoman, please ensure you double check the size needed for your fabric.
I'm getting ready to sew some kitchen towels with this linen. I am wondering whether it is best to cut off the selvedge and finish the sides, because sometimes heavier linen selvedges crumple up when washed and distort the fabric.
We've found the selvedges on this fabric will not crumple up or ripple when washed, so they can be left attached to the fabric.
Can this be used to make slipcovers?
It can be if it not considered a heavy use item. If it is then most customers will use the heavier linens which are 7.1 ounces or heavier.
For the IL084 on sale today, how much shrinkage should I expect in the length? I would like a finished length of 24" for my towels, but would like to hem them before washing. Your recommendation? Thanks, Ann
Based on the tutorial we have for the IL084 you would cut and hem them at 27" to account for the expected 10% shrinkage using our pre-wash recommendations that you will find listed in our help center.
Sturdy linen, soft colors. I used it to make a tote bag for my shop. Easy to cut and sew. Highly recommended.
We recently repainted and refreshed our kitchen. Naturally new dish towels were a part of that. This toweling is definitely a great color for modern decorating! Judith
This was the first time I ordered this beautiful striped linen. It's very soft and washed nicely. I'm using it for custom market bags . Thank you
This fabric makes it easy to have great results. The quality is top notch and striking. Makes into beautiful kitchen towels.
The colors are bright on ivory heavy/rustic linen. I made several kitchen towels.
