This is a 19" wide twin to the 4C22 Rustic linen line.

Woven out of the same size thread and with the same thread density this IL084 is just woven to be narrow. That means less cutting time for you and you can get to the fun part of using your linen items sooner.

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a larger variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color. Design created exclusively for F|S.

Narrow width cloth is great for:

  • Shopping bags
  • Purses
  • Placemats
  • Runners
  • Decorative pillows
  • Kitchen towels
  • Appliance covers
  • Potholders
  • Cushions

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers

I love all of your rustic liinen stipe materials and wonder if you carry any in a wider width. I'd like to make curtains out of it but want the material wider. Suggestions??

Our Customers like to cut their towels between 27" to 31" depending on their preference and how much yardage they have.

Are the edges of the fabric raw or already hemmed?

Susan • May 13, 2023

The edges of all fabrics are bound and will not fray. These are called 'selvedges' or 'selvages'

Our apologies, this stripe is only available on the narrow width Il018. You may like to consider our french ticking fabric which has a stripe: Search IL087 in the search bar to find it.

the color is so different from the photo

This fabric is wonderful for dishtowels but the gray is a quite dark, concrete gray. The blue and such a dark gray is not cheerful. Every time I get it out to make the towels, I put it back and think maybe later. My monitor is 99% accurate.

Great for gifts

Attractive, practical gift for just about anyone. I made several dish towels for Christmas gifts, and they were much appreciated. I will be making more for myself!

Comfy toweling

I'm partial to any type of Linen but this toweling is very nice. A somewhat darker natural than my computer screen shows but still very nice. I plan on making some kitchen towels with it but it would also work nicely for bread or roll baskets, shopping bags or totes. Lots of possibilities!

Great fabric

Not quite what I expected. The natural raw linen background color was a bit if a surprise but considering I'm going to follow your directions for kitchen towels it perfect for the use they will get. They will be Christmas stocking gifts for my daughters.

I made 12 dish towels yesterday, for my daughters for Christmas., they turned out perfectly. Usually I make handwoven dish towels for them; these will do nicely as replacements.

Closer look at the Gorgeous Linen Toweling!

A • September 18, 2021

Love the Quality of this Beautiful Linen! Makes Placemats, Table Runners, Napkins, Tea Towels etc. A Welcoming Event! What a nice way to honor your Family and Guests! Very simple to Sew! I used the email Tutorial, and it was a breeze! I stitched as directed before laundering. Crisp Linen makes sewing a Joy! Thank you!!!

Linen kitchen towels are the best and IL084 is perfect for this application. The towels in this picture were first hemmed (with selvedges left on), then washed in hot water and dried in the dryer to shrink the fabric, then washed again in hot water and shaken out, finger pressed/stretched and hung (or laid flat on counter, back of couch, whatever) to dry. I don't plan on ironing them before giving them as gifts. The natural background color will continue to lighten a bit with repeated washing. Shown in picture (top to bottom) IL084 977, MLT-10 (Limoges), MLT-20 (Autumn Gold), MLT-18 (Vineyard Green), MLT-10 (Deep Claret) and MLT-17 (Dulse).
