Bleached color is achieved by "stripping" the natural pigment out of the fibers( just like you would with bleaching hair). What you are left with is a very soft shade that is just ever so slightly an off-white color.
Bleached is the basics of any project and loves being dyed. It is actually what we use to dye the colors. A truly versatile base and a must-have addition to your fabric repertoire.

This heavy 100% linen gloriously shows off the beautiful natural texture of linen and comes with our exclusive FS Premier Finish.

With a super soft hand and a denser weave than some of its counterparts, it is perfect for anything from apparel to table linens to window treatments, drapery and a variety of home decor items.

The Premier Finish undergoes a two-step process to give the cloth a luxurious, supple feel right out of the box.

First, we apply a softener to give the fabric a silkier surface. Then, strong blasts of air are blown into the woven cloth. This beats up the fibers to make them softer and mimics the fiber bending process that the fabric undergoes when you've used it a lot.

This finishing process gives the fabric a much softer and more luxurious hand. It will be less prone to deep creases and have less linting. Shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration based on the fabric type ( thread size, count, weave type).

Very happy

I bought this fabric to make a fair linen cloth for my church's altar. I do drawn thread work so I thought the close warp/waft thread count would work well. I washed and dryed this fabric on hot several times. Fortunately I allowed for shrinkage. The threads for hemstitching and for the fancy work were easy to pull. Stitching on this is a dream. Love it! I'm thinking of a kimono jacket with pulled work in this fabric. Fantastic fabric with which to work!

Anne profile image soft

I have not used this fabric yet but I am surprised and amazed at the softness of it. Just beautiful feel. I plan to make bath towel out of it. The color is a soft off white.

I dressed these curtains up a bit with drawn thread embroidery, which shows very clearly in this close-up. Also finished the fringe in the same way. It was my first attempt at this kind of thing and I was quite pleased with the result. The fabric is gorgeous, with lovely drape.
