IL078 940 Fs Premier Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.2 oz/yd2), Width 59"
A heavyweight linen with a twill weave which creates a pattern of diagonal, parallel lines. The design and color palette was inspired by a 200-year-old fabric piece and was carefully replicated on modern weaving looms while maintaining the antique appearance.
Fabric is
excellent for jackets, pants, vests; as well as home decor apparel that
require a heavier hand and additional dimension provided by the twill
weave.
Yarn Dyed 100% linens are made using linen threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a large variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color.
Part of our Luxury Linen Collection this group is a heavier weight linen. Available in classic and timeless patterns that can coordinate with each other and our other heavier linens.
Completing the luxurious look and feel is our exclusive "Premier Finish" which is smooth, agreeable to the senses and that perfect final touch that enhances the beauty of these exceptional linen yarn dyes.
The Premier Finish undergoes a two-step process to give the cloth a luxurious, supple feel right out of the box.
First, we apply a softener to give the fabric a silkier surface. Then, strong blasts of air are blown into the woven cloth. This beats up the fibers to make them softer and mimics the fiber bending process that the fabric undergoes when you've used it a lot.
This finishing process gives the fabric a much softer and more luxurious hand. It will be less prone to deep creases and have less linting. Shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration based on the fabric type ( thread size, count, weave type).

Customer Questions and Answers
I am making a variety of tablecloths and covers for my daughter's bread bakery business. Your fabric is easy to sew, launders very well and is amazingly soft. I have looked for over a year for a website that has linen fabric and am especially grateful for the wide widths.
I will be making the Norma Jean by Tina Givens from my remnant pieces. and a vest. I am thrilled that this yarn-dye is great for apparel. Even though it's a heavier weight, the softness is unmatched from any other linen I've ever purchased. I hope to order more of this in a continuous cut for the sake of clothing and hats! The colors are muted lending to the vintage vibe that I'm incorporating into my wardrobe this winter.
Super soft, beautiful drape, wonderful next to skin feel. Great pant, dress or blouse material - or just about anything you could think of creating. Love this stuff. Will post top I make once it is finished.
Linen is my absolute favorite fabric to work with. Living in Texas I can wear it year round but I wanted something that felt more 'fall-ish' so I decided to choose the Heavyweight IL078 940 FS Premier Finish: a brown, black and cream stripe fabric with lovely texture due to the twill weave and yarn-dyed process. I love jumpsuits. I mean, who doesn't? So when I saw the GIA FS Pattern I knew I wanted to try it.
