IL073 Narrow Width 969 - 100% Linen Fabric - Very Heavy (9.1 oz/yd2), Width 19"
This is a 19" wide canvas weight cloth.
Woven out of thick, short staple, linen thread - this fabric is made to scrunch up after the wash and dry. It shrinks about 18% on the weft of the fabric ( widthwise) and 16% of the warp of the fabric ( lengthwise). This gives it the needed density for home textiles.
At a canvas weight of 9.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is a fabulous utilitarian fabric that you will love for its simple rustic beauty and strength. Items made from this fabric will wear like iron and last decades.
Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a large variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color.
Narrow width cloth is great for:
- Shopping bags
- Purses

- Runners
- Decorative pillows
- Kitchen towels
- Appliance covers

Customer Questions and Answers
I made wonderful rustic fringed 15" tall placements with varieties of DB IL073 100% Linen - Canvas. MY QUESTION: What fabric will make nice napkins to go with these?
This bold stripe is my new favorite for the dish towels I've been making and giving away to friends who love them on sight. In my kitchen which is mostly very dark brown/black with the usual brushed stainless steel and touches of turquoise pottery etc, this wide stripe adds a perfect kind of soft graphic. Really love it!
I keep buying this fabric to make towels. The first order 6 yards, second order 9 yards and third order 15 yards. I'm making them for gifts because I love them so much, I want all of my friends to have some of their own. Very easy to make, I love how hefty they are. The color is perfect for kitchen use, stains won't show. I like to damp dry and then shake out and finish air drying , which is pretty fast. Ironing dish towels is something I don't want to do. I love how the linen transforms into a soft cloth. Linen is so beautiful.
I have never bought the canvas linen before and probably would not have had it not been for the dish towel project posted by fabrics- store. Now I am hooked! The dish towels are great. Easy to sew material with a farm house look and feel and they are so absorbent. I ironed them after the first wash and then on subsequent washing I hang them on my drying rack out of the washer. They dry quickly and perfect - no ironing necessary. I have a number of projects I will try with this fabric!
I bought 6 yards to make kitchen towels. I made 6 towels in a half hour. Love the heft of the finished towels. I take them out of the dryer before they are totally dried and smooth them out and let them air dry so I don't have to iron them. Very happy with the towels.
I bought a yard and made a rustic table topper for that farmhouse look.
The color looks gorgeous online. I had wiggle room on the color, so I was not expecting an exact replica of what I see online. Unfortunately, it's much more brown than gold and the green is closer to a blue, which I don't mind. But the brown will not work.
I ordered this thinking it was green. Very disappointed to receive blue which I have plenty of. Heads up it isn't green.
i made 5 towels each one yard long, originally before washing. i love them
