IL051 879 Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.6 oz/yd2), Width 59"
Yarn Dyed 100% linens are made using linen threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a large variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I absolutely love the unusual color of this burnt orange linen. However, was greatly disappointed in grain distortions that appeared after laundering. It was washed on gentle cycle, warm/cold, in an HE front load washer. Hung to dry over a shower rod. A large section near one selvage became bubbly & distorted and I couldn't iron/steam/pull it out. The other side was fine. If I can figure out how to upload a photo, you'll see what happened.
Its the combination of khaki and orange threads that gives this fabric a subtle, sophisticated color. Great fabric.
Colour shifts as you move. I made a tunic and get compliments every time I wear it.
Unusual color
This is a combination of two thread colors - a rusty pumpkin and khaki. The fabric overall is a rust without the red tone, on its way to brown, but with a hint of green added.

This is Victoria Jones Collection pattern #110, the Ranch Shirt. I used IL044-234 for the body and this 879 for the contrast. Both fabrics are complex yet subtle, woven with various colors to create neutrals.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
