IL041 Open Weave Green Lawn Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.01 oz/yd2), Width 57"
At 5.1 ounces this Open Weave 57 inch wide linen has a unique slightly sheer look and feel that sets it apart from other medium weight linens. Open weave does not make it less durable or versatile, just loosely woven.
This linen should be laundered in a cold wash-tumble dried on air setting or very low heat--line dry if possible.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
the weave is very loose and open. can not be made into a garment or machine embroidered as i intended. hoping to exchange for a different weight
I have not used this particular color of the fabric but others and have to say it makes incredible washcloths. I have given up on using any terrycloth, either washcloths or towels, for my personal use. And my husband has followed along with me, he says his skin looks and feels better! I cut 14" squares and simply hemmed them up...they are wonderful washcloths and I will never go back to terrycloth! You cannot go wrong with linen and it is so versatile.
When the linen arrived, it looked green burlap, the weave was not tight at all, I am very unhappy with this product.
The fabric is a beautiful slightly darker Kelly Green, and it is soft, however it is a good deal more see through than I was expecting. This isn't just sheer, it is see through. I am also posting a pic of the fabric with my hand under it so you can get an idea. I wouldn't use this for apparel unless it is a layer going over something else.
In general, I love the IL041 open weave linen. It drapes beautifully, and feels great. You have to mind it in the dryer, though, as the lint that comes off is prodigious. Check every 15 minutes to prevent choking the lint trap. I ordered this 'green lawn' fabric recently and it arrived today. I had thought that it would be a wonderful hunter green, or even a dark kelly based on the scanned swatch shown here as most of the swatches on the website are within a good range of accuracy to real life colors. I was surprised when I opened my order to find a vivid chartreuse, like Kermit the Frog. I'll figure out something to do with this, perhaps overdyeing will tame the radioactivity. :)
