At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Beautiful color, lovely to sew, wonderful quality
I opened the package and this just took my breath away. One of my best colors is rose brown and this is very like it--a pinkish undertone to the brown. I do wish this color came in a heavier weight--I would buy it in an instant.
I needed a color that had a bit of pink in it, and read a review that said this did. Unfortunately, the color was red, not pink, and thus did not work well for my cocoa, coffee, cappuccino-colored hand-crocheted top. Such a disappointment. Soooo, I am going to try to wash/soak it with the pretty Insignia Blue fabric I purchased here. We shall see. I am hoping it will become a purple-casted beauty, suitable for my particular purpose. The fabric is lightweight, without being sheer, and would make a lovely full skirt or a summer dress. Even if the color isn't changed the slightest bit for my purposes, it will still be lovely made up. Wish me luck!
This is a color that seems to go with absolutely everything in my closet. I've made two tops with it so far, and plan to use the leftover scraps in a dark grey color-blocked tunic. Excellent quality fabric - I just wish this color was available in the mid-weight linen too! I'm a customer for life!
A lovely muted pink-hued brown. Perfect for reenactors looking for an approximation of natural dyes. Goes beautifully with redwood, a slightly muted red.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
