There is a light, airy delicacy to DAWN linen, suggesting spring blossom or translucent rose petals blushing pink in the sunlight. It was a colour American artist Georgia O'Keeffe returned to over and over, capturing the pastel toned vibrancy of fresh, new flowers and the dry, parched earth of America's barren deserts.

At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Soooo beautiful
Reviewer: George

I got this fabric to make a simple dress for my very picky mother and she absolutely loves this fabric! She is a person who will only wear all natural fabrics and linen is a personal preference for her and her favorite. She is in love with this linen as am I. It washes very well, the color is so delicate and although more if a peach when in person, is still so incredibly pretty and did not fade in washing. Handling and sewing was just as much of a pleasure. Will definitely be purchasing this one in the future!

This is way brighter than I was expecting, almost like a highlighter pink. Still pretty but not the peachier, softer pink I was expecting.

BEWARE!!!!!! These people are PUSHERS!
Reviewer: Heidi

After not sewing for over 40 years, I started making masks at the beginning of the pandemic. Over 700 donated masks later, I said "Enough!" and decided to sew clothing for myself. I found out about from who gives crafting ideas using Cricut products. I logged on to and registered and then I got an email offering the IL019 for 38% off. Ok, I'll bite. I got 15 yards of it, plus 2 patterns and 10 yards of IL020 in Dawn (that salmon color). The first thing I made was the Phoebe Tank in some scrap cotton poly I used for mask lining. Well now, that wasn't so hard! Then I made Chelsea in the IL019 and fell in love with the linen. It's so soft! Then I made Monique in the IL020 but it was too big, so I made a smaller size, which my sister stole. So I made another one. Then came the Alexandra pants in the IL019, but wouldn't they be better with pockets? So, I made a pair with pockets. I have downloaded almost every pattern plus tutorial on the website. All the while, these pushers are sending me emails about sales and OH! we have this pattern plus free fabric and OOOh look at this color dontcha want it? So, they have made me a linen addict and I now have bought 266 yards of the stuff. The Excel project sheet I made up says I have enough projects planned to last me through October. That is, if I don't eat or sleep. And they are still sending me emails. Bad pushers, BAD, BAD! But, gee.... it's all so soft and that color is so pretty! I love my linen pushers!!!!

Perfect for cherry blossom time
Reviewer: Sarah

This is such a pretty hue, and I have had my eye on it for some time. I didn't really realize it at the time, but it should come as no surprise to me that I would order it just as the trees are beginning to show colour.

Appliqués and/or Accents

I prefer to shop doggie bags for small remanents to purchasing samples. Even 0.30 doggie bags are in general 57" x 10" after washing and drying. Do a little mental math, and think about what you could do with that! Not sure if it is good for your plan, too heavy, too light, or just right? I'm finishing up my learning curve, by ordering doggie bags, washing them, and making a small or medium sized project. Think gift bag, belt or sash, doll clothes, smocked bonnet... working with it is the best way to improve newbie skills! J

Absolutely beautiful
Reviewer: Terri

This is the most beautiful color I've seen. I love linen but am pretty new to working with it. This linen washed and ironed nicely. I plan to make a dress or top with it, or both as I ordered enough. This isn't my first order of linen and it definitely won't be my last. I love this product and the supplier ships fast.

Dawn for my Daughter
Reviewer: Elizabeth

Made my daughter a blouse we had seen in the Boden clothing catalog using this lovely fabric. It was a dream to work with and looks beautiful on her. I'm on my third linen project since discovering this site.

I had been thinking about a set of linen sheets for ages, so I bought 15 yards of this delicious peach color. After thinking about it, I decided to use 2 lengths, splitting one in half lengthwise so the seams are are just on the sides of the sheet. Two flat sheet make it easy to use either one for the bottom with PLENTY of tuck in on the sides. Two pillowcases with accent hems finished the set. Love it!

I took a chance on an online fabric store and OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I'm in love! I made a cute little dress with this fabric and I've never felt so comfy yet stylish! This fabric is super soft - a little see-through, so I added a light cotton lining - and I love how it feels against the skin! It sews like a dream!

I made this boxy top with IL020 softened light fabric in color dawn. The pattern is Butterick 5948. I love this lighter weight linen for Summer garments.
