American artist Cy Twombly made the kind of art that celebrates what it is to be an artist, with wild scribbles, streaks and swipes applied with a raw and primal energy. He spent much of his later life in Italy, where he interwove classical ideas into his abstract art.
He then began painting with an increasingly spontaneous language, and shockingly bright shades of pink and purple like DAHLIA. Flowers were a recurring theme in his later art, but they were far from pretty and sentimental, instead expressing the messy, tactile, and all-consuming qualities of the natural world.
At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

This is as always gorgeous linen and the colour is fabulous. I love all tints and shades to do with purples pinks and green and this is amazing. I hope to create a simple linen top for the summer.
Bought this to make a button down shirt for myself. Color is gorgeous and as always the fabric is soft and launders like a dream.
The quality of the fabric is excellent, as always with Fabrics-Store.com, but the color representation is off. The picture appears more of a magenta/fuschia on my screen, and when I received the piece, it is definitely purple.
I used the Bruna pattern. Shortened the placket so it didn't need any buttons, narrowed the width, made it mid hip length and made the sleeves straight and long so I could roll them. Just LOVE this shirt
I used the Fabric Stores Faye Duster pattern. The Dahlia is gorgeous and the weight and feel is perfect.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
