CORAL linen is a color filled with heat and fire, burning with the raging intensity of a Spanish sunset. For the deeply passionate painter Joan Miro this red held great significance, both as a patriotic symbol for his native Spain and a potent carrier of raw, overflowing emotion that spills out from his canvases and into the room beyond.

At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Great accent color!
Reviewer: Diana

I bought this Coral handkerchief linen for a specific project, but ended up using it as sleeve lining for a nice but not-very-interesting green medieval tunic. What a difference it made! Since then, I've used it as lining and accent color for a dark blue gown, and ordered more for future projects. I hope you will introduce more handkerchief linen in bright colors.

LOVE this color...

Made the Roseclair dress from Cashmerette in this beautiful fabric. IL020 is a bit lighter than IL019, but it worked out well for this dress as it has a lot of gathers.

Nice fabric but ...
Reviewer: Carlin

This is a lovely fabric, it has a nice hand and is easy to sew. As another review said, it is good for lightweight lagenlook summer tops. But how do you come up with these names? I think of coral as a lighter orange. And you call it an orange-red but I don't see any red in this at all. This is closer to a Halloween orange. Fortunately, I like all shades of orange and I will get plenty of use out of this top. I suggest people take the time to get a swatch.

I made a sleeveless tunic/summer dress with this gorgeously ultra-vivid orange/red linen. It drapes beautifully and is light and airy. I'll be buying more to make some lagenlook full and flowy pants soon! Fun to pair with bright blues/turquoise!

First, let me say the fabric is exactly what I ordered! Fast arrival, even in the midst of current holiday and vaccine shipment competition (Christmas 2020). I was so excited to see a red/orange color on sale for use in my Italian Renaissance and Elizabethan period petticoats, that I jumped and ordered. It arrived - and it's much more orange than I expected, with less red. I knew better, so that's on me!

Such an eye popper. I used it as such in a long size bed cover along with a turquoise and yellow on a grey cover. Stunning.

This order took 5 days from placement to delivery in New Zealand, truely amazing, thank you so much. I am very happy with it, a real nice true bright orange, perfect for a dress for myself.

Dress for a friend. She's going to Mexico and wanted this dress to go for her beach cover up. Butterick B5362 View B. Didn't want white.

Medieval court tunic with Coral accents and sleeve lining

I was a little concerned about the lightweight character of this linen... I shouldn't have been. It is not see-through and makes a great summer dress.

Dress for my Granddaughter. It has lavender embroidery around neckline, sleeves and hemline.

6 pillow cases to go with the bed cover I made last week. A monumental project for me as it was huge. The linen feels weightless but it's warm and soft. I love this stuff!

Great cover. It is one full panel then yardage cut in half, 3 strips, kind of a double wide in fabric all done piecemeal randomly. So much fun watching it come together. Surprisingly we find it really warm now that it's so cold, 15 degrees this morning; cozy.
