At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Color is reminiscent of my childhood painting classes.

The name itself Cerulean blue suggests happy hours in childhood painting classes, maybe that was why I decided to add a pink shawl to the Cerulean blue dress I made. Every Sunday someone compliments me on the color combination. The fabric was easy to work with and best of all, it is lightweight for the steamy heat of a Montgomery Alabama summer.

Donna profile image update on cerulean blue

I went to buy thread. The color I purchased was 'baby blue' by Coats and Clark. I hope this helps anyone curious about the color.

Donna profile image Lovely! Cerulean Handkerchief Linen

The color is lovely, and true to what is on my screen. However, I thought the fabric would be darker when it arrived, because cerulean is really a darker blue (On my color wheel it is) When I first opened the box, I thought it was more of what we would call a baby blue and not a true cerulean. Besides that, I am not disappointed. The fabric is still beautiful. And , it feels wonderful. I plan to make a blouse. And, if I can figure out how to do it, I will post a picture.

Good Quality Linen

This is a beautiful linen, I made some flower girls' dresses for a wedding and they came out really nice. You might want to lined your project because the fabric is a bit see through.
