British based painter Tomma Abts chooses retro, in-between shades that are hard to place, particularly the dusty, vintage pink of SHADOW GREY Linen.

Woven like strips of found fabric into her abstract designs, ribbons of these unusual colors fold over and intersect with one another, creating complex visual puzzles that shift in and out of the light but never give the game away.

These soft pinks bring warmth and humanity into her works, suggesting the peachy glow of a half-lit interior.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Great neutral

Favorite fabric for sewing and wearing. I actually bought this color years ago and made Sew House Seven free range slacks. I am finally posting a picture with a recently made simple top of same color in light weight linen. I was pleased with consistency of color.

Not Grey!

Lovely fabric; just make sure you wash it before you cut out your pattern. But the color is not grey; it is definitely a pink. A better description would be Dusty Plum, or a Mauve-just a little pinker. If you remember the popular shade of pink from the 1990's, this would be close, but softer. If soft, greyed colors look good on you, you will like this.

This color is tricky

Picture shows a pinkish color. Name says grey. It's like the color of a Sterling Rose. Very soft beautiful color. The texture is light and flowy. Love it!

Beautiful color

Haven't started my project yet but plan to make a shirt using your Zina pattern. Recently made the Chelsea shirt in apricot and received so many compliments. Plan on seeing more in the winter months ahead.

Collecting Multiple Fabrics

I have been enthralled with your linen fabrics since stumbling onto your website some months ago. I have not sewn for many years, but discovering you & your fabrics has inspired me to start sewing again! So far, I've just been collecting various fabrics & downloading the patterns I want to use. So I have no experience with them yet except for loving the feel & the color of each. Be patient with me until I can begin the actual process of creating an item! Thank you for your fabric & pattern offerings, as well as for the accompanying stories! What a class company!!

Old Rose

I hesitated to order this because many times the screen photo is different when you get it The name shadow grey threw me off but this is the most beautiful old rose mauve color. I haven't used it yet but I do absolutely love it and will be ordering more.

Should have pink in the name!

Finally a pink that I can wear. My stash has a pile of fabrics tending toward bubble gum and peach, awful for me, but this color is wonderful. Color is subjective of course, but I would never pair the word 'grey' with this one--it's definitely worth buying a swatch if you aren't sure.

This pink

I really loved the color my monitor showed! My fabric arrived very quickly! It was a dark mauve! Not a pink' But it matched a duvet I had bought so I shall make pillow cases from it!!! I love, love the fabric! I made a night gown from the linen that is always on sale!!! I was it about 2 times a week!!! This strange year, I've stayed in my gown , most of the day!!!! loving linen! Absolutely Love This Color

I was so pleased when I received this fabric. The color is lovely! I had enough to make pants, a tank and a wrap sleeveless top. It's easy to sew and looks so expensive. My favorite fabric.

This cross-body handbag is a new style bag that is a bit smaller, created with pure linen, and heavily embroidered for beauty and uniqueness. NO ONE ELSE has a bag like this on their shoulder. The pink bags were a special gift for a Breast Cancer Awareness Event for several girls in Texas. More colors available here: fabricartbylinda.etsy.com

Middleweight linen Sew House Seven free range pants with lightweight linen top.

I decided to go with FS SHADOW GREY Midweight Softened Linen for the shirt. I was after a softer shade, as there was a chance I might disappear in the shirt's oversized silhouette. From the photos in the listing, I had pictured a powder pink tone, however, I found it more of a mauve pink in real life.

I had such a lovely experience sewing the Hallon dress. My friend Sanna is the designer behind Paradise Patterns and gifted me this pattern (not in exchange for anything, just for fun) when she released it in March. I chose the FS Midweight in SHADOW GREY for this dress, a lovely shade of mauve, perfect for this deceptively simple pattern. To make the Zina shirtdress pattern, I chose the SHADOW GREY linen in 5.3 Oz because it's so summery and compliments various tones already in my closet. The weight of this linen is perfect for fall transitioning and layering.
