Our beautiful Rust color is a warm burnished orange that is definitely not a bright pumpkin orange, but rather a shade that has been refered to as a desert neutral, sophistcated, warm and subtle.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I recently purchased the softened rust and the softened natural colors to make a tablecloth and napkins for a wedding gift. After washing and drying the linen it was wonderfully soft and ironed well. I found it great to work with and I am completing the project with some embroidery. This will make a beautiful gift for the fall wedding. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. This jacket is actually made from the Adobe middleweight linen but that color is not available at the moment and the Rust color is close.

IL019 Rust Linen Circle Skirt. The weight is perfect and the softness is luxurious. My suggestion on working with this fabric is to finish the cut edge of your yardage and then wash and machine dry twice before cutting then your finished product will be perfect :-)
I made these valances using the Rust fabric as inserts and for the piping as well covering the board they are attached to. I also ordered the Autumn Gold and will be using that as the main fabric for valances in the laundry room which is adjacent to the kitchen (this room). FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
